New Hangouts for Google Chrome brings Material Design and Facebook Messenger features

O Material Design finally arrived for the web app of Hangouts. Available for Google Chrome, the new version of the app has a flat look, bringing the look of the web app closer to its Android version.

The big news is the feature “always on top”, which causes an access bubble to the application to appear and remain on top of the other open windows in the operating system – similar to the “chat heads” of the Messenger application of the Facebook. In addition, you can easily switch between contacts, which are attached above the green icon. This feature makes life a lot easier for those who use the Google service for multiple conversations.

Another advantage is that it is now possible to exit Hangouts completely just by clicking the close button. Previously, when clicking the close button, the application would continue running in the background.

If you already use the old Hangouts app, stay tuned: the new version of the app NO it is an update and yes a new app. It is necessary to uninstall the old version and download the new version, available on the Chrome Web Store.
