The first two films of Ant Man aren't amazing, so the task of Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to be better is not the hardest. This means that the new film is a Infinity War ou Ultimatum? Of course not, but it's far from a disaster either. Did Marvel get it right? Check out the full review now!
The story

after the blip and the end of Ultimatum, scott lang (Paul Rudd) is finally at peace with himself and has even written a book – a very successful one, by the way. his daughter, Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) is now no longer a child, but a teenager full of ideas and eager to save the world with Pym technology.
Cassie scares Scott by being arrested, even if for good reasons, taking the family Hope Vandyne (Evangeline Lily) Janet Vandyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank pym (Michael Douglas) having a meeting. This reveals that Hope, Hank and Cassie were studying the Quantum Realm.
The study looks very promising, but it includes sending a signal to the same, causing them all to be sent to this world and the rest of the story unfolds.
the quantum realm

Apart from the first 15 minutes of the film, the rest takes place completely in the Quantum Realm and I particularly liked it a lot. That world gave me a suffocating feeling, while also expanding the world of Marvel in theaters.
I can say that this was the most “Star Wars” movie from Marvel, since we saw strange beings, speaking strange languages and on a strange “planet”. Yes, Guardians of the Galaxy I had already explored other beings, but I think that here we had greater diversity.
Also, after a while, I can say that the special effects are quite competent. As 90% of the film takes place in a universe that does not exist, there were few scenes where that made me feel strange.
Cast and acting

I have mentioned some main characters before, but the universe of Quantum Realm brings some new faces. I won't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but these are characters that serve the purpose of either keeping the narrative flowing or else for comic relief.
Of the novelties, it is worth highlighting one of them, not because it is necessarily good, but because it is weird. As you can see in the trailers, MODOK it's in the movie and I'll be honest, I don't know anything about the character, but it's a disturbing thing to see in live-action. Reminds me of the villain from Sharkboy and Lavagirl, but at least its purpose is basically to make us laugh, so it works.
That said, everyone works well in the film and I didn't feel that there were any characters left or missing in the middle. It is a film that goes from point A to B and that's it, both in the script and in the performances.
Who is the villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania?

The main novelty of the film in terms of cast is in the hands of Jonathan Majors like the villain Kang, or Conqueror. That was one of the few reasons I took a greater interest in this film, and I left satisfied with the man's performance.
It has scenes of all kinds and manages to be very imposing when necessary and the best, it differs from its variant in Loki. The only point where the performances sinned a little was in the most explosive scenes, in which his anger seemed artificial.
The rest of the cast does their part well, making the famous rice and beans, with nothing that will leave you with that feeling of “wow, how incredible”, nor with the face of “wow, how horrible”. It's just average.
Verdict

Lastly, Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania It's a movie worth watching at the cinema if you have one. IMAX near your home. The movie is beautiful and has cool scenes.
Its story works in what it is proposed: to present the great new villain of this new saga of the MCU, Kang. Here, we see more details of the character, his origin and a little of his actions through the multiverse.
The point is that it's a movie that won't surprise you at all and has a story that you've seen hundreds of times out there. Without giving away spoilers, I hated the ending and I think it's the part where the “Marvel/Disney” side maybe weighed their hand for some events not to happen, generating a silly atmosphere in the film, with a lot of shallow decisions that leave the title weaker.
Ah, as usual, the film has two post-credits scenes. They have importance for the next few years of this universe, but maybe I'm tired of it, so I didn't think anything "wow" either. But it piques the curiosity.
And that was my review of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The film premieres on February 16 here in Brazil. you can now buy your tickets online.
