After teasing the launch, we have the first information about the triple-screen foldable smartphone from Huawei, which has the official name of Huawei Mate XT. So far, it will only be sold in China, without Android. Get to know the device up close.
Design
Presented in red and black colors, in addition to having a material on the back that resembles leather, the Huawei Mate XT It is only 3,6 mm thick when fully opened. When folded into three parts, it is 12,8 mm thick, just 0,7 mm thicker than the Galaxy z fold 6.
Details about the official weight of the device have not been released, but it should not exceed 250 grams, as it is extremely thin. The battery will be charged via USB-C connection and the device also has three buttons for lock and volume control.
Regarding resistance, the Chinese company highlights that the foldable screen is 25% more resistant compared to other foldables available on the market, but we can only wait for real-life tests to find out whether this is true or not.
In addition to the three-screen foldable smartphone, the Huawei announced a foldable touch keyboard that matches the Mate XT for a desktop-like experience. It's an interesting idea for those who work in a variety of markets, and we'll just have to see how it works in practice. See a photo of it below:
Fabrics
Despite being advertised as a trifold or three-screen foldable smartphone, the device actually has only one screen that folds into three parts. The external screen, which works independently, measures 6,4 inches and has FHD+ resolution.
When fully open, the device measures 10,2 inches, displaying images and videos in 3K resolution. It is also possible to use the model with two folds, and in this mode, it has a 7,9-inch screen, displaying images in 2K resolution. See all the modes in this video below:
The largest screen on the three-screen foldable Huawei is only 2 inches smaller than the screen seen on the iPad Mini, giving the sensation of using a tablet that can be folded and placed in your pocket. It is an interesting solution for those who give presentations, need to read/sign documents and even create content for the internet.
Battery
Despite being extremely thin, the Huawei has placed a 5.000 mAh battery that should be enough for the device to work for a whole day. Charging is also impressive: wired, it will be possible to recharge the device with a power of 66 W. Wirelessly, it will be possible to have access to a power of 50 W.
Processor
More specific details about the performance power of the Huawei Mate XT have not been revealed, but it is expected that he will have a chip Kirin 9000, developed by its own Huawei. It is worth remembering that the company has not been authorized to launch models with the Android operating system since 2020 due to a restriction from the US government.
There are three internal storage options: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. All variants feature 16 GB of RAM.
Cameras
Not many details have been revealed about capturing photos and videos with the device, but on its back there is a triple set of lenses formed by a main camera 50 megapixels (with a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0), a 12 megapixel ultrawide and a 12 megapixel periscope camera. The camera on the larger screen has 8 megapixels and is located further to the left.
