For the integration between the two applications to work, you must have both installed on your smartphone, in addition to an account on each of the services. If your Spotify account is free, no problem, just follow the step by step:

  • Open the Waze app;
  • Tap on the Spotify icon located in the upper right corner;
  • Select 'Okay' on the Spotify onboarding screen;
  • Select 'Accept' on the Waze onboarding screen;

Ready. As of now, both services are work together.

Whenever you want to use Spotify within the Waze interface, just tap the app icon. If it eventually disappears, tap the re-center button to see it again.

Note that when you touch the Spotify icon, a kind of shortcut is displayed at the top of the screen. It displays the last played artist, album, track or playlist. If you want to select your song from another playlist, you need to tap the 'Go to' is open the streaming app.

The coolest thing about doing this is that, even with Spotify open, Waze still shows the directions to be followed at the top of the screen. And in case you ever need to go back to Waze, there's always a open easily accessible.
