A CES 2024 continues at full steam and amid the launch of AI PCs, the Intel announced the launch of three new processor families: Intel Core HX series, Raptor Lake Refresh (14th generation for desktops) and Intel Core U Series 1. The company complemented last month's announcement about intel core ultra and also presented the new CPUs. See details and when all of this hits the market right now.
14th Gen Intel Core HX Series

Led by the powerful 14900HX, which has eight performance cores and another 16 cores Efficient, Intel highlighted in the press release that whoever uses the Intel Core i7-14700HX will have 50% more E-colors for better performance in content creation.
The most advanced version of the new CPUs for notebooks 14th Gen Intel Core HX Series can reach a turbo frequency of 5,8 GHz: this speed allows for 17% greater performance in games and 51% greater performance in multitasking.
A Intel also mentions that the i9-14900HX will have 24 cores (eight P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads in processors, in addition to i7-14700HX also reach 20 cores (eight P-cores, 12 E-cores) and 28 threads. Regarding maximum memory support, the new processors will be able to work with up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory, reaching transfer speeds of up to 5600 MT/s/.

Another novelty is support for the Thunderbolt 5, with bidirectional bandwidth of 80 gigabits per second (Gbps) and increased bandwidth to up to 120 Gbps, tripling the capacity of today's fastest solutions and delivering the best image and data experiences.
The new processors can also work with notebooks that have Thunderbolt 4 ports with 40 Gbps bandwidth for connectivity between PCs and multiple 4K monitors and accessories. Furthermore, another update arrives for the use of wireless networks: it will be possible to connect to Wi-Fi 6E networks and also to Wi-Fi networks. The use of devices with Bluetooth 5.3 and 5.4 antennas is also confirmed.
14th Gen Intel Core (Raptor Lake Refresh)

With the first installment of launches taking place in October 2023, Intel revealed that its 14th generation for desktops will continue to meet the demands of people who study, work, play and also consume films and series.
The maximum speed of 5,8 GHz is also confirmed here and Intel highlights that it will be possible to perform with multithreading up to 37% higher and up to 7% better performance than Microsoft Office across generations.
The 14th generation Intel Core family, named after Raptor Lake Refresh and it also has support for working with up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM, with surprising speeds. These new processors can also be installed on motherboards with DDR4 3.200 MT/S type sticks, with backwards compatibility with current Intel motherboards from the 6000 and 7000 series.

Connectivity details include support for connecting to Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 networks. It will also be possible to use PCIe 5.0 SSDs and Thunderbolt ports, with a bandwidth of 40 Gbps. The use of USB 3.2e ports with bandwidth up to 20 Gbps is supported.

Intel Core U Series 1

Big news from Intel for the AI PC market, the Intel Core U (U for Ultra) line made its international debut in December 2023. Focused on thin and ultra-light notebooks, we will also see these new processors in models aimed at gamers.
Early performance information shows that Intel Core U series 1 processors will be able to reach a turbo frequency of 5,8 GHz, along with up to 10 cores (two P-cores, eight E-cores) and 12 threads on the Intel Core 7 150U processor. They are also capable of reading up to 96 GB of total DDR5-5.200 MT/S and DDR4-3.200 MT/S memory.
As expected, the notebooks must feature USB-C ports supporting the Thunderbolt 4 standard with bandwidth of up to 40 Gbps and connection to monitors with resolution screens. Support for devices with antennas with Bluetooth 5.4 or 5.3, in addition to audio for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), is also more than confirmed.
Finally, these notebooks are now on the market and can connect to Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 networks.
