In the Marvel universe, the Mjolnir - Thor's hammer - can only be lifted by who is worthy. Who does not have the powers, is only at will. In the real universe, this feat can be accomplished with some scientific knowledge and a lot of creativity.
Allen Pan, from the channel Sufficiently Advanced, created a replica of Mjolnir that only he can get up. A microwave electromagnetic transformer was used to produce a magnetic field, an Arduino Pro Mini, a fingerprint sensor and a solid state relay, hidden in the housing.
When the hammer is placed on a metal surface, it becomes very heavy. To be able to lift it, the YouTuber used the Arduino and the biometric sensor to recognize its fingerprint and then turn off the transformer that creates the magnetic field.
Allen Pan took his invention to Venice Beach, California and asked passersby to try to lift the hammer. The result you can see in the video below:
All it needed was a hidden camera and a guy doing it Thor cosplay to lift the replica of Mjolnir. 😛
