John McAfee
is probably the craziest personality among the big names in technology. The guy can be a lunatic at times, but he's a tech genius, and creator of the first antivirus, named after him.

From the former CEO of one of the biggest tech companies of the 90s to the owner of a paramilitary army in a small Central American country, McAfee has offered to help FBI to unlock the iPhone of a terrorist after the Apple refusing to help the US agency, understand the case.

at first he had said he would use Social Engineering to unlock the device, when asked by the website Tech Insider, but later denied "How the hell am I going to social engineer a dead guy's cell phone? Think about it“, said John.

Understand how John McAfee would unlock the iPhone

Initially he was reluctant to reveal which method he would use for fear of being pressured by the Apple e FBI, but detailed a bit of the process to the website.

To hack the smartphone without help from the Apple it is necessary to make some changes in the processor A6present in iPhone 5c. The chip has a unique identifier called a UID that, when combined with the phone's access code, generates the product's security encryption.

In this way the FBI would need to find out the UID to insert into supercomputers to generate random combinations and unlock the device with good old fashioned “brute force“. Faced with four or five trillion password possibilities, McAfee guarantees that it only takes five minutes for a supercomputer to get the right combination.

Before you think he's saying something surreal, the Tech Insider did a search on Google and confirmed that this method is under discussion in a Discussion Forum. John also says that this method is only possible on devices equipped with the chip A6, because the chip A7present in iPhone 5s is safer, and he even claims that the Chinese already use this method.

What do you think about it all? Should the FBI or should not access the data?
