After the company responsible for the application fails to comply with a court decision WhatsApp, a popular message-sharing service, a judge issues a decision demanding the suspension of the service nationwide.

In a note, the Teresina Civil and Criminal Forum, states that the decision was given after the WhatsApp having failed to comply with an order requesting the availability of data relating to conversations relevant to a police investigation. The investigation is still under judicial secrecy, for this reason further details about the case are not disclosed. It is only known that the order is due to the fact that the company did not take pictures containing the sexual exposure of minors from circulation, related to an investigation being processed at the Police Station for the Protection of Children and Adolescents in Teresina, Piauí.
