Justin Roiland, one of the minds behind the hit animated series Rick and Morty, is in the crosshairs of the US Justice. He was accused of domestic violence and physical abuse, as well as false imprisonment against his ex-girlfriend, who has not been publicly identified.

According to the news portal NBC News, the case took place on January 19, 2020, but the victim only filed the complaint in May of the same year, in Orange County, California. At the time, a bond of 50 thousand dollars e roiland pleaded not guilty to both charges.
The allegations were followed by a precautionary measure, which forbid him to approach his ex-girlfriend, threaten her or bother her under any pretext. In addition, the document also obliged him to hand over any and all firearms registered in his name, or that were in his possession even though they were not his.
However, the precautionary measure is temporary and will cease to be valid as of October 2023. Since the date the complaint was filed, roiland he was present at several hearings and his trial will continue on a scheduled date. He had a preliminary hearing scheduled with the court for last Thursday, the 12th. His lawyers believe that, after the measure ends, when the case is judged, his client will be acquitted of the charges.
There was no further comment from Justin Roiland or the attorneys on the case after it came to light.
