At an event held in the city of São Paulo for journalists and influencers, the Kodak announced its return to Brazil after almost 11 years since its bankruptcy, which occurred in 2013. For this new venture, the company is betting on instant cameras Mini Shot Retro 2 e Mini Shot Retro 3, which resemble Polaroid cameras, but have a 2-in-1 concept: they work as an instant camera and as a photo printer. Understand the details.
Kodak's return to Brazil

In 2013, due to several factors, including the advancement of smartphone cameras, the Kodak went into bankruptcy and stopped operating in several countries. Now, under the administration of Brazil Electronics, the brand returns to Brazil with two models of instant cameras. It is estimated that 10 units will be sold per month in the country by the end of the year.
For both cameras, there is a partnership with Fast shop: both cameras Kodak will be sold exclusively through the store, whether in person or on the website. The store is also confident due to the feeling of nostalgia and modernity that has been dominating these days.
We understand that people do not choose a product based solely on its functional value. The representation and history behind the brands are also decisive factors. That's why Kodak's return to the national market, exclusively at Fast Shop, fully meets our purpose. Kodak speaks to different age groups, who see photography as a way to immortalize special moments,
Anderson Kanno, Statutory Director of Fast Shop
According to a survey by the research institute Dataintelo, the photographic segment has been recording an increase in sales of traditional and instant cameras, with the possibility of reaching US$ 3 billion by 2030. The data shows a market movement that contributes to explaining the success of cameras from Kodak that already happens in other countries. In the United States alone, through Amazon, more than five million units of this brand's product line were sold in 2023.
Just as they have already gained prominence in the international market, these cameras should win the hearts of Brazilians. Kodak is a beloved brand that is present in most people's lives through photo albums. Furthermore, today there is a retro wave, which can be seen both in culture, such as the return of films like Top Gun, and in industry, through the design of products such as coffee makers and minibars. This scenario tends to boost the launch of cameras. The new digital native generations, so fond of selfies and photos, recognize printed photos as something new. This, in line with the fact that the product is digital and multifunctional, attracts attention.

Before sending it to print, it is possible to add filters, make cuts and also add frames.
