A LEGO Group announced this Tuesday, 14, a special version of the iconic NES, Nintendo, popularly known as “nintendo” in Brazil, launched in 1985. The set has more than 2.600 pieces and hits the market for US$ 229,99, something around R$ 1.235,00 in direct conversion, without taxes, at the current dollar exchange rate. . A teaser of the new kit had been shown yesterday on LEGO's official account on Twitter:

The complete NES kit has the classic video game, a controller, a cartridge and a mini tube television, with a kind of interactive screen, which, with the turn of its crank, reproduces one of the Super Mario Bros.. Unfortunately the console version isn't functional, but it's certainly an edition of respect for longtime fans.

In addition, on the television there is a space for attaching a Mario action figure, previously sold in LEGO Super Mario kits, which allows you to emit the same sound effects as in the 80s game, for a better experience.

About the NES

Launched in Brazil in 1985, the device became popular with the public and became a cultural phenomenon over the years. Selling just over 60 million units, the NES set new standards for the gaming industry, with renowned titles like Legend Of Zelda, Metroid, Super Mario Bros. e Donkey Kong.

In addition, the console had been designed to have the look of a toy, and consequently attract more attention from children and adults. Not to mention that it was the first console to receive games from outsourced companies, such as Castlevania, Mega Man, Duck Tales, Ghosts 'N Goblins, Ninja Gaiden e final Fantasy. This happened because in the past, only the games that were developed by their respective manufacturers were inserted in the consoles.

However, the success of the exclusive Super Mario Bros. was the video game's great gimmick, becoming the fifth best-selling game of all time, with 64 million copies shipped to stores. Its simple gameplay, colorful graphics, and a striking soundtrack were its highlights, and not to mention, of course, the addition of Pop Culture's most famous mustachioed plumber, who immediately became not only Nintendo's mascot, but also its main symbol. of the Japanese giant and global reference. The game also had the participation of other characters that would become consecrated in the future, such as Princess Peach, Luigi and the Machiavellian Bowser.

O lego nes will be available for purchase at United States from the 1st of August. This wasn't the first partnership between Nintendo and the LEGO Group, and it certainly won't be the last.
