As is standard in technology presentations these days, the LG na CES 2024, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, had a special focus on artificial intelligence. The company adopted a proactive stance towards the new wave of AI, focusing its presentation on the theme “Reinvent your future” (reinvent your future, in Portuguese) and publicly expressed the intention of transforming itself into a Smart Life Solutions Company, that is, a company committed to seeking and offering solutions for smart living, focused on improving the user experience.

Redefining the use of the term AI from Artificial Intelligence to Affective Intelligence within its campaigns, Executive Director William Cho presented the company's plans for the future of AI. A LG has a great advantage due to its wide range of equipment and what makes it capable of using real-life information, collected through sharing billions of devices, to acquire valuable data about interactions between the customer and the device, in addition to environments , behavior patterns and emotional states of each person, seeking to deliver an increasingly personalized experience.

Defined as “a powerful processing engine driven by large language model (LLM) from LG” by the company itself, the LG AI Brain will be able to satisfy each person's needs and put into practice the collection and transformation of this data for the well-being of its users.

This allows the company to offer intelligent services and experiences to the various spaces of customers' lives, all in the most intelligent and efficient way, demonstrating the attention embedded in LG's Affective Intelligence concept.

Furthermore, the company presented a new product resulting from this AI evolution that we have recently experienced, the robot Smart Home AI Agent. This friendly little robot promises to use artificial intelligence through a multimodal LLM and will be able to recognize both natural language and recognize who is in front of it through its cameras, thanks to its platform Qualcomm Robotics RB5. In a demonstration carried out during the presentation, the AI agent suggests relaxing music after a person says they have had a tiring day.

Furthermore, this new robot connects directly with several other appliances such as a washing machine, refrigerator and Smart TVs with webOS and promises to be a smart home hub that moves around the house with its two legs, capable of moving around the environment. Advanced artificial intelligence technologies examine data, continually learning and integrating it with external information. The robot can perform functions such as monitoring pets and serving as a security guard, providing users with the ability to observe and care for their animals from a distance, as well as sending alerts if unusual activity is detected, such as in the case of a person. be having a health problem.

With all these new features, the LG took responsibility and informed that it is aware of using AI ethically and is committed to being responsible for the impacts and consequences of its decisions and actions. The company's focus is to use systems that benefit all users, promoting safe behavior and protection of personal data collected through Responsible Intelligence.

In his conclusions during the LG World Premiere, CEO Cho highlighted that the company’s approach LG in relation to artificial intelligence is based on the conviction that customers must have complete control. He also added: “Life's Good" (The life is good). This is the solid and committed promise that drives the company to provide a better life for customers, even in the age of artificial intelligence.

OLED Signature T: the new TV with a transparent screen

One of the highlights of the presentation of the LG it's definitely your new television with a transparent screen. A LG OLED Signature T It has a 77-inch 4K screen that practically “disappears” during use, merging the content being displayed with what is on the background of your television, creating complete integration with your home environment.

There is still no information about the price and launch date of the new TV, but the LG plans to introduce this new product to the market by the end of 2024. It is anticipated that the product will be positioned as a premium item, with considerably high prices, due to its innovative technology. Although the company has previously presented prototypes, this will be the first model available for sale to consumers.

The conception behind the LG OLED Signature T is to create a TV that is increasingly integrated into the environment in which it is installed, whether fixed to a wall or combining with the scenario desired by the consumer. It is not the first time that we see companies launching devices that not only seek to highlight their quality, but also aim to adapt to the environment, integrating harmoniously into the room's decor. A Samsung, with your The Frame, proposes something similar by transforming the TV into part of the decoration, incorporating it into paintings. In the case of OLED Signature T, offers the option of displaying paintings and other works of art, or simply a transparent background when the device is not in use.

with the mode Always-On, the new TV from LG offers the functionality of displaying floating elements on the screen, such as weather forecast information, current temperature, currently playing song titles and others, functioning as widgets of a smartphone on your television screen.

Obviously, during use, the television has the option of turning off transparent mode, displaying a high-quality “conventional” screen with MicroLED technology. However, according to the website The Verge, the new device leaves something to be desired in one aspect. When the contrast filter is on, the OLED T is not on par with the best conventional OLEDs in the world. LG, like the G series. It does not have the technology of Micro Lens Array which provided significant improvements in luminosity for this line. Furthermore, the new technology required sacrifices in more realistic color reproduction and perfect image clarity when compared to other premium TVs.

Thus, as the recently announced LG OLED M4 which we mentioned in our text about LG's new B4, C4 and G4 lines for 2024, OLED Signature T It has practically no wires to operate, with the only cable present being the electrical power cable. The TV has a box called Zero Connect Box, where all signal input and output cables are connected and sends the image and audio wirelessly to the smart TV, with the promise that it will work without loss of quality.

The new TV points to a new aspect in the future of television and promises a new iteration in technology with a different option for customers who want a new experience.
