LG will be showcasing the LG CLOiD at the trade show, a domestic robot with artificial intelligence designed to perform everyday tasks. See what it can do for you.

During CES 2026, LG It promises to present the public with a little bit of everything, from Smart TVs to smart devices — and also an ambitious new concept: the Domestic Robot. LG CLOIDThe proposal is clear: to drastically reduce the time spent on household chores through a robot fully integrated into the company's smart home ecosystem. While scenarios like "robots that fold clothes" seemed like science fiction until recently, the LG CLOID This emerges as a concrete demonstration of LG's vision for the future of the home.

O CLOiD It is part of LG's concept called "Effortless Home"“Zero Labor Home”Automation (in the original English), which seeks to minimize human labor in repetitive and domestic activities. The idea expands the concept of traditional automation (such as vacuum cleaners or automatic washing machines) and becomes an intelligent physical agent capable of performing complex tasks sequentially.

According to LG, the goal is not just to automate appliances, but to create a central robotic assistant that observes, understands, and acts proactively in the home environment—something closer to a "digital butler" than a robot isolated to just one type of task.

What can LG CLOiD do?

No CES 2026, LG CLOiD It will be demonstrated by performing practical tasks that have attracted considerable attention. Among them, folding clothes after washing — one of the household chores most often cited as tiring by many consumers. The robot uses an articulated arm with sensors and AI to manipulate pieces of clothing on a surface.

Furthermore, the LG CLOiD It will be presented as capable of making coffee, retrieving small objects, and interacting with other types of smart devices. LG emphasized that these actions are just initial examples of the robot's potential, and that it can learn new behaviors over time.

Design and hardware

Visually, LG CLOID It departs from the classic humanoid form. It resembles a compact mobile robot, with a wheeled base, rounded body, and an articulated robotic arm. The design prioritizes mobility and safety within domestic environments.

The robot also features vision, depth, and proximity sensors, allowing it to navigate indoor environments, identify objects, and interact with household appliances. Everything indicates that the focus is more on functionality than on a "humanized" appearance.

Use of Artificial Intelligence and Physical AI

One of the highlights of LG CLOID It's the use of what LG calls Physical AI (“Physical AI”(in the original English) — a combination of generative artificial intelligence, computer vision, and reinforcement learning applied to a physical body. This allows the robot to adapt its movements to different contexts, such as varying fabrics or distinct surfaces.

Unlike robots programmed for rigid tasks, the LG CLOID It was designed to interpret commands in natural language, plan actions and execute them autonomously, learning through continuous use. Even so, LG made it clear that the product is still in the conceptual stage.

Integration with ThinQ and smart home

O LG CLOID It was designed as an extension of the LG ThinQ ecosystem, functioning as a mobile home automation hub. This means it can interact with washing machines, coffee makers, refrigerators, and other smart appliances from the brand.

In practice, the robot can act as an intermediary between the user and the connected home: receiving commands, activating devices, checking statuses, and even performing physical actions, something that goes beyond what traditional virtual assistants can do.

Expectations and the future

Despite putting on an impressive demonstration, LG made it clear that CLOiD is not yet a commercial product. No price, release date, or final specifications have been announced. The presentation at CES is expected to be purely conceptual, showcasing a technological and strategic direction.

Still, CLOiD signals a future where multifunctional home robots could become commonplace, especially as AI evolves and hardware costs decrease. If LG manages to turn this concept into a viable product, the impact on people's daily lives could be enormous.

O LG CLOID It's not just a robot that folds clothes; it represents a paradigm shift in how we view home automation. By combining mobility, advanced AI, and deep smart home integration, LG is taking a bold step towards a truly autonomous home.
