Samsung launches its Bespoke AI Laundry smart washer and dryer line.

Bespoke AI Laundry Wash and DryThe new products integrate screens and a bespoke design to enhance the user experience and are designed to simplify laundry routines with advanced AI algorithms and sensors. Design

The new line adopts the familiar design. Samsung Bespoke, focused on a fully unified flat-screen aesthetic, allowing the machines to integrate elegantly into the environment without the need for traditional buttons or dials. The central point of the design is the replacement of these controls by AI Home, a 7-inch screen that centralizes all operations.

The line was designed for versatility, available in 24- and 27-inch sizes and offering flexibility for vertical or horizontal installation layouts. Beyond aesthetics, the design includes functional features such as... Auto Open Doorwhere the machine door opens automatically at the end of the cycle to facilitate accessibility and ventilation.

AI resources

The line's artificial intelligence has been updated from the original AI Wash and AI Dry to AI Wash+ and AI Dry+, which now feature enhanced fabric detection capabilities.

• AI Wash+: The washing machine has been enhanced to detect various types of fabrics, such as jeans. Based on the type of fabric, level of dirt, and weight of the clothes, the AI ​​Wash+ cycle cleans clothes efficiently, automatically adjusting detergent levels, rinse time, and wash settings.
• AI Dry+: The drying process has been updated to detect fabric types and optimize the cycle. The feature's AI algorithm uses an advanced sensor that monitors factors to detect four fabric types, resulting in improved drying performance for heavy garments, such as jeans, which were previously difficult to dry evenly.
• Intelligent Cycles: The line features a "Bedding" cycle that detects the thickness of the blankets in the washing machine and the size of the item in the dryer to optimize drying time.
• AI Ecobubble: Available in select models, such as the combo and the 24-inch model, it ensures a gentle wash and improves dirt removal.

Connectivity

Connectivity is entirely centralized on the screen. 7″ AI HomeIt acts as the operational brain of the laundry room and a control hub for the connected home. Its functions go far beyond simply selecting cycles:

• Monitoring and control: The screen offers intuitive control and monitoring of essential washing information, such as cycle progress and remaining detergent levels.
• Home Hub (SmartThings): AI Home functions as a central hub, allowing users to monitor and control other connected devices within the SmartThings ecosystem.
• Personalization and Entertainment: AI learns the user's habits and considers periodic and seasonal needs to suggest the most appropriate cycles, aiming for maximum personalization of use. While the laundry is in operation, the screen also allows the user to watch videos or listen to music online.

A Samsung account is required to access AI Home's network-based services. Device software updates are also performed remotely via SmartThings.

Price and availability

At the time of writing this article, the price of Samsung's new Bespoke washer-dryer has not yet been released.

Regarding its release, it is expected to arrive in Europe, Asia, and the Americas in the second half of 2025.
