Table of Contents
MateRate is a website that promises to find the perfect movie or series for you on the main streaming services, based on your personal tastes. It's the end of that endless doubt when choosing what to watch. The website, which is also an application, points out the result based on a few questions, and already directs you to the available platform (Netflix, NOW, Locke, etc) or to the movie ticket purchase website.
Content ranges from classic, black and white, cult, French, Iranian and indie cinema, to the latest Hollywood and Netflix releases, and the database is updated daily. The app was released in beta version but can now be downloaded from App Store, Google Play or accessed directly from https://materate.com/

Configuring MateRate
You may not have realized it, but you have already started the account setup process in the previous item. Then, you will be directed to a page where you must give a score, from 1 to 5, for ten suggested films. If you haven't seen the movie, or don't want to comment, the option will also be available.

That's when the system starts to predict how the user would rate each movie, and all movies receive a badge on the app's scale, which uses Facebook-like reactions, such as "boo", "grr", "hmm", " yeah” and “wow” (top score!).

After adding the notes, your cuelist is ready to be analyzed.
The MateRate suggestion list
User can select their preferred streaming services like Netflix, Now, HBO, Prime Video, iTunes, Google Play, Telecine Play, Looke, etc. All available titles are ordered according to the user's taste, and MateRate indicates where the content is available, and shows the value, if applicable.
The platform indicates both movies in theaters and works available on Netflix, just click on the title to be directed to the work, with a single click.
How MateRate came about
A group of designers, developers and creatives, located on the Rio-São Paulo axis, met for four years willing to map the feelings of film and series consumers, with the aim of developing a truly useful product for this audience.
The result was MateRate, a platform that follows the trend of major global players such as AirBnb, Spotify and WhatsApp, but with Brazilian blood in its veins.
promoting connections
This part is great! If you are watching with someone, the application allows you to select the person's profile, and automatically promotes a match of recommendations between the movie suggestions that serve both you and your company. Will the fights end?
