Presentations

The 67th edition of Grammy was marked by many political acts. Amid President Donald Trump's sanctions, Lady Gaga highlighted that the lives of trans people must be remembered and, without this, the LGBTQIA+ community would not exist.

Presentations by artists such as Sabrina Carpenter and the rookie doechii were the most talked about on the internet. Let's go through each one of them.

Sabrina Carpenter

Dominating the music charts in 2024 with the hits "Espresso" e “Please Please Please”, Sabrina Carpenter arrived at the 2025 Grammys with a medley of his most famous singles.

The blonde showed why she was so talked about last year with a very theatrical performance lasting around five minutes with lots of references to the shows on her last tour, without leaving humor aside at any point.

Chappell roan

Chappell roan made her debut on the awards stage with a vibrant performance of “Pink Pony Club,” a track from her album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess

The show featured a pink-hued western theme, including a huge pink pony, rodeo clowns and Roan dressed in a brown cowgirl outfit and a bright pink hat.

doechii

Nominated in two categories, the rapper doechii had one of the most talked about performances of his greatest hits Selfish e Denial is a River. A newcomer to the music world, she enlisted a team of dancers, all dressed in matching designer suits. Thom Browne

In a remarkable moment, doechii had her costume removed by the dancers, revealing haute couture underwear, while interacting with her therapist alter-ego, played by DJ Miss Milan, in a dynamic scenario with a sliding floor.

Benson Boone

Benson Boone took the stage at the awards show to give a memorable performance of her hit “Beautiful Things.” The show began in an unusual way, with Boone dressed in a classic suit in the middle of the audience, next to Heidi Klum and Nikki Glaser. The two celebrities helped remove his suit jacket, revealing a sheer blue jumpsuit.

Demonstrating its characteristic energy, Boone delivered a dynamic performance, incorporating his powerful vocals and acrobatics, including his famous backflips, which have become a trademark of his live performances.

O Grammy 2025 paid a moving tribute to Quincy Jones, the legendary composer, arranger, conductor and music producer, who passed away in November last year at the age of 91. The performance celebrated his everlasting impact on music, bringing together different generations to remember his unforgettable legacy.

Will Smith opened the celebration by recalling his partnership with Jones, followed by Cynthia Erivo e Herbie Hancock interpreting fly me to the moon. Lainey Wilson e Jacob Necklace presented Let the Good Times Roll, While Stevie Wonder moved by We Are the World alongside choirs from schools affected by fires in Los Angeles.

Janelle Monáe closed the tribute with a vibrant performance of Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough, wearing a tank top in tribute to Jones.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars

Nominated in two main award categories, Bruno Mars e Lady Gaga took to the stage at the 2025 Grammy Awards to honor the victims of the Los Angeles fires with “California Dreamin,” originally sung by the group The Mamas and The Papas.

After the release of testimonies from people affected by the environmental disaster in California, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga appeared on another stage, delivering an intimate, emotional and very beautiful performance.

The Weeknd's Return

That was the big surprise of the night. In 2021, The Weeknd was snubbed by the academy Grammy, even though he was successful and broke records with his album After Hours, which features the hit Blinding Lights. At the time, he went as far as to say that the awards were corrupt and that they should be more transparent. Since then, the singer has stopped submitting his work to the Recording Academy as a protest.

Back in 2025, the Grammy CEO, Harvey Jay Mason Jr., took to the stage at the awards ceremony for the first time in history, to publicly apologize to the singer and also announce that “in recent years, artists have been heard so that changes can be implemented”. Check out the full speech below:

Thereby, The Weeknd went up on stage to sing Timeless, with the rapper Playboy Cart, and his other single, Cry For Me, from his album released at the end of January.

Shakira

Shakira made a triumphant return to the awards show stage after 18 years, celebrating her 48th birthday with an electrifying performance. The Colombian singer performed a medley of her hits “Eyes Like This” e “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53“, incorporating her iconic belly dance.

The singer was also honored at the awards ceremony with a video showing her entire journey as a Latin symbol, from when she won her first golden gramophone to the release of her latest album, which also won an award that night.

Charli XCX
