The initiative is part of the project “Free WiFi” of the City of São Paulo that will offer free internet in 120 parks and squares of the city until the middle of this year, in the biggest project of digital inclusion in Latin America.
The city will spend R$ 30 million on the service. Two companies won the bid and will be responsible for offering the free Wi-Fi points for the next 3 years.
On the City Hall website you can find the complete list of “Free Wi-Fi” squares and parks.
How does it work?
Any citizen can use the service and access the internet through tablets, smartphones, laptops, etc. Just connect to the network and browse. The minimum speed offered is 512 kbps per user.
