This Tuesday, the 29th, the Meta announced the launch of the new app AI goal, which brings together several features already present in platforms such as WhatsApp, Social media coordinator, Facebook e Messenger, integrating the company’s AI services. The idea is to offer users a “social network” for interacting with generated content, in addition to the chatbot service, answering questions and generating content adapted to each user’s style. See how it works:
New Meta AI app for iPhone and Android
Who uses the platforms of Meta has already been presented at some point about the AI goal, which has a chatbot integrated into all of the company's applications, responding to text and image tasks. However, the new application was developed to integrate all of these artificial intelligence features that the Meta already available on these social networks, bringing it closer to competitors such as OpenAI (ChatGPT), X (Grok) to Google ( Gemini:).
Among the functions are virtual assistants that suggest automatic responses, help with creating messages and offer recommendations in conversations. According to the company, the app makes it easier to access these tools in a single place, without having to open different applications.
Features
the new app AI goal is powered by llama 4, the most recent language model of Meta, developed to offer more natural, contextual and personalized responses. The company highlights that the AI was designed to be easy to converse with, with a tone closer to everyday language, whether by text or voice, also offering a content sharing interface that promotes interaction between users and integration with company devices. See the main functions:
“Discover” area for AI creations
One of the main features of the new app is the section called Discover (or “Discover”, in free translation), designed to be a collaborative space for exploring and sharing creations made with artificial intelligence. In this area, users can publish what they have generated with AI — such as images, texts, ideas or even creative suggestions to solve everyday problems — and browse other users' creations, which allows them to discover different ways of using the resource.
There is also the possibility of remix other people’s creations — that is, taking an already shared command and adapting it in a personalized way. The company says that nothing is published automatically: sharing is optional and the control over what appears in the feed is entirely up to the user.
According to Meta, the section was created to encourage creativity, generate new conversations and form a community around the everyday use of artificial intelligence, but integrating AI models into a “social network” has another great advantage: obtaining data for the development and evolution of the tool itself. XAi de Elon Musk, for example, works with the Grok working in line with the platform X/Twitter. On the other hand, the OpenAI, owner of ChatGPT also reportedly plans to launch a social network to expand learning of the company's models.
Personalized Interaction Hub
As for the chatbot, the difference lies precisely in the personalization: according to Meta, AI responses are tailored based on users' own public information, such as page likes, interests declared on the profile and even their network of friends.
This data helps the system understand the context of whoever is speaking to the AI and shape responses to make them more useful and aligned with each person’s style. For example, if a user tends to interact with content about movies and technology, the AI can prioritize references or suggestions within those topics.
According to the company, this use of data is limited and transparent. Only public data already available in the user's profile is considered, which will be used exclusively within the app itself, aiming to improve the user experience. Meta states that this information is not shared with third parties and that control over privacy remains in the hands of the user.
Voice interaction
In addition to text chat, the app supports voice interactions, including an experimental feature called full-duplex, which simulates a spoken exchange in real time, with the AI generating direct audio responses, similar to what it already does OpenAI e Google in their systems. This technology, initially available in some countries, aims to make the experience more fluid for those who are multitasking or prefer to speak rather than type.
Device integration
The new app also works as a companion app for devices like smart glasses. Ray-Ban Meta, allowing the user to start a conversation on the glasses and resume it on the cell phone or in the web version, with the history synchronized.
