The launch event for the new smart glasses that will succeed the Ray-Ban Meta, a model launched in 2023, which is still successful today. And Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the company, has already announced in a reel who will be the next partner company: Oakley.
According to data from a Bloomberg report, the glasses are internally called “Supernova 2” and would be based on the brand's Sphaera glasses model. Instead of housing the cameras on the side, the Supernova 2 would move the camera to the center of the frame. The idea is to appeal to cyclists and other outdoor athletes, who will take advantage of Meta’s video recording, photo capture, stereo headset and voice assistant functions.

The report did not detail other potential features, though Oakley's glasses reportedly have similar features to current Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses.
