Ended today (08/04) officially, Microsoft support for Windows XP. The company will no longer offer updates for the operating system that was released in 2001. Microsoft even released a goodbye letter where it says that the best option for users is to adopt Windows 8.1.
In first-person text, the Windows XP recalls a little of the trajectory of the system:
“I hope you have a pleasant memory of my wallpaper, this green hill with a blue sky and white clouds. Thank you very much for the opportunity to be able to serve you as an operating system. This is a moment of nostalgia and why not spill a few bits by remembering what happened since my 600 days of development – gestation – in Redmond, a time when they called me “Whistler”. () During the Windows Info meetings, 2.700 kg of pasta were consumed and 86.400 frappuccinos were served, according to data collected by my development team. Good memories, but not as good as the ones I have of the time I spent on all of your monitors, helping you from working more efficiently to making a beautiful video with Windows Movie Maker.”
For those who still use the system, a tip: do the download of the latest updates for these programs, burn them to a USB stick (or DVD), and then install them on any device. Last week, we released a post with all information on how to perform this procedure.
