A new version of Windows 11 may soon arrive on devices. According to rumours, the ecosystem plans to launch a cheaper option with ad display and a monthly subscription that would work on a “hybrid model” of processing between on-premises hardware and the cloud capabilities of the Windows 365.
The news was raised after the company announced a job vacancy in which it cites an edition of the operating system with “advertising spaces” all with “work on low-end PCs”. In this way, the employee would work in Product Management and Design teams to “build experiences aligned with the mission of driving cloud-first actions on Windows”.
Apparently, the ecosystem is planning to expand its Windows 365 (version cloud operating system) for home audiences. Launched in July last year, the product is currently only offered to the corporate environment. Based on Azure, the service offers users “virtual machines” with different configurations. Without relying on local storage or hardware specification, access occurs from devices with Windows, MacOS, Linux e Android.
With hybrid processing, we would have cheaper computers, as the user would not need to buy a device with the full license and hardware needed to run the operating system. With the operating system running entirely in the cloud, manufacturers can develop laptops and PCs with entry-level configurations, with the bare minimum to run a free system, as with the distribution. Linux, for example.
Despite the “novelty”, remote desktops, also known as remote desktop, have been around for some time. However, the idea of ecosystem is to make it easier for consumers and businesses to access devices as well as their operating system.
Availability of the new version of Windows 11
Although there are strong indications that we will have a new version of Windows 11 in the hybrid model, there is no way to predict when it will hit the market. So far, the ecosystem did not comment on the matter. Despite this, experts believe that we still have more news on the subject in the first half of 2023.
