Loss of image resolution may no longer be a problem. The solution: quality mode on WhatsApp. More on the new setting below.

Since arriving in Brazil, the WhatsApp even got a nickname: the “zap”. So familiar and so successful around here, the application is always incorporating new technologies and functions. One of the most recent news about them tells of the quality mode on WhatsApp. The configuration will allow you to give an improved finish to the photos sent in the app.

Thus, when sharing images, users will be able to have more accurate control over the photo files, ensuring that they are sent with a good resolution. That is, users will have to configure image control options within the application.

What will be available in quality mode on WhatsApp

When we send messages through WhatsApp, some options may appear around the media that we intend to send to a contact. This is the case with images: the user is introduced to some tools that allow him to draw on the photo or write something over it. With quality mode, one more option will be available in this type of file sharing. The expectation, however, is that the change will only occur in future updates.

In this way, the original quality of the photos sent remains, leaving the resolution more guaranteed, as it already happens in Telegram — in fact, the competing app allows you to send the image in both low and high resolution. Preliminary information also points out that it is likely that the quality tool is not available for videos.

Options available in the app

By clicking on the button to improve the Quality , the user is presented with the “best quality” option. At the same time, the tool also shows the alternative to “save data”. There is also the possibility of sending the image automatically, which is the default photo sending function.

It is worth remembering that the app tends to send gallery in low definition so as not to weigh too much on the device's memory. That is, the configuration tends to seek the best performance of the application. Therefore, the “automatic” option is recommended by the WhatsApp.

Setting resolution automatically

When opening the WhatsApp, users can adjust the sending of images in a quality at their discretion, going to the “Storage and Data” option. This adjustment is available on the application's home screen: just click on the three dots that appear in the upper right corner of the screen and go to “Settings”.

At the bottom, there will be an option for “Image upload quality”. As soon as you click on this section, you can define the way you want to send photos inside WhatsApp, whether you are a WhatsApp Business user or the app for ordinary users.

Extra: How to manage WhatsApp memory

sometimes the WhatsApp it may take up a lot of space on your device's internal storage. But some tips can be adopted to alleviate the problem. One of the steps to take to deal with this issue is to look for heavy items within the app.

To do this, go to the settings, look for the “storage and data” section that you saw earlier, and tap on “Forwarded too often”. There you will see an option to exclude both files that have been forwarded many times and files that are 5MB or more. Additionally, this tweak allows you to view media both by size in the memory as by storage time (oldest or newest).

Also, once the user clicks on this memory option, it is possible to delete several media at once, or analyze them one by one. When erasing, the WhatsApp it also lets you select files that aren't favorites, so you don't lose what you want to keep on your device.
