How much would a PC with a PS5 configuration cost?

Ride a PC in recent times it has been a rather complicated task due to high prices, and while the Sony does not reveal the official value of the PlayStation 5, which should not arrive in Brazil for a friendly number, we wonder how much and how we would be able to assemble a machine with the most similar parts to the console.
It is important to point out that as we are talking about the exchange of a generation of video games, many hardware resources are not yet available to the consumer, so we will bring the parts of our PC as close as possible to what is not within the broad range of purchase.
Motherboard
The central component when assembling a PC could not be left out of the first stage of this process, and as we will be dealing with parts from a more robust segment, we need a mainboard as complete and robust as.
As the PlayStation 5 processor is a Ryze, our choice to support this type of CPU goes to the ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PLUS/BR, a high-end motherboard with socket AM4 support from AMD, and compatibility with the M.2 SSD standard.
The ASUS X570 is available on the market for R$1.600,00 and is sure to meet all user needs for a long time to come.
Processor
Sony's console comes equipped with a Zen 2 architecture Ryzen CPU. This processor operates on 8 cores and has frequencies of up to 3.5 Ghz with 16 threads. In the PC world, what we were able to find is also an AMD model, the Ryzen 7 3700x, which has very similar specifications to the PS5.
In the cooling part the cooler that comes with the product will do the job and you don't need to buy another piece. The AMD platform has seen better days when it comes to pricing, and unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly inflated the value of the Ryzen 3700x, which can be found in the range of R$ 2.500,00.
RAM memory
Here is one of the most difficult points of building a PC with the specifications of a video game. This is because the PlayStation 5 uses 16GB of RAM GDDR6 shared between CPU and GPU, and DDR6 memories are not yet available in the computer world.
The solution is to find DDR4 memory modules that operate at 3200 Mhz to try to match the settings. In our case, the chosen one was a set of 16GB HyperX Predator, which is on the market for around R$ 800,00.
Storage
Perhaps the biggest asset of the PlayStation 5 is its storage system. The console comes equipped with a SSD 825 GB, read capacity of 5.5 GB / s and uses a compression technology that takes it up to 8,9 GB/s.
Once again the new generation gains the upper hand against our PC. However, we chose a 1 TB Aorus SSD with Gigabyte's NVMe PCIe 4.0 technology with a read rate of up to 5 GB/s. It's not the same as the PS5, but don't let appearances fool you, this product is extremely fast and won't be a hindrance when loading your games.
Unfortunately its price is not friendly at all and can be found for R$ 1.800,00, but it is also around R$ 2.000,00 in some situations.
Video card
The video card is the big draw for any self-respecting PC Gamer, and here we won't be talking about just anything. The PS5 graphics card is also AMD, based on the RDNA 2 microarchitecture with 36 compute units and 10.3 Teraflops.
The big problem here is that AMD doesn't have a product with this profile for computers. It is expected that by the end of 2020 the company will announce its plates high-end with the architecture Big Ships and that supports ray tracing, but at the moment there is nothing available from the company.
On the other hand, NVIDIA knows how to work with high performance graphics chips and we will choose RTX 2070 Super from ASUS, available for around R$4.000,00. A company recently unveiled its new RTX 3000 family, Ea RTX 3070 promises to deliver the equivalent or better performance of a 2080 Ti at half the price ($499). However, this model will only be available in October and we still don't have officially confirmed values in Real.
As much as a 2070 Super runs games in an excellent way, it might be interesting to wait a little longer for the price of this card to drop or start thinking about investing in the 3070 in the future. It's important to keep in mind that the next generation of consoles will aim for 4K resolution at 30 or 60 frames, so it's only possible to get this result on PCs with high-end cards.
Pig iron
Having a good source to feed the system is synonymous with stability and security. For this reason, we chose a model of 750W by Corsair, with active 80 Plus Bronze PFC seal for R$ 699,00. In fact, we could even buy a lower power product, but it's always good to consider future upgrades that need more energy to work.
Cabinet
To put together all this beautiful – and expensive – set of pieces we need a high-rise cabinet, and the Corsair Carbide Spec-06 TG was our chosen. With a beautiful look, the case has two fans included and has an acrylic side, being sold for about R$ 600,00.
Peripherals
In terms of hardware, our list could have ended, but just like a video game, a PC can only be used with a few peripherals, so we had some interesting options in this area and chose the Logitech G502 Hero (R$ 350) as a representative of the mice, a highly regarded product highly praised by users.
Speaking of keyboards, the HyperX Alloy Origins (about R$ 600 to R$ 700) is one of the mechanics category and another product very well evaluated by those who use it. Finally, another indication of HyperX goes to the headset, the Cloud Revolver S (R$730), perfect for playing with friends without sacrificing audio quality.
Conclusion
Building a console-like PC may not be the easiest task in the world, especially when there is such a marked difference in the number and availability of some technologies. Finally, counting the peripherals, our computer with PS5 configurations has the value of R$ 13.679,00. The price can be scary, but it's the closest we can get today.
