As the update did not arrive on the promised date and our readers started to charge us, we decided to look for the Motorola to find out what was going on. In conversation with Renato Arradi, Product Manager at Motorola Mobility, we were informed that internal testing to release the update took longer than expected and the update would be available to users by the end of this week, early next week at the latest. The update will be by OTA (over the air – no need to connect your smartphone to your computer) and released in phases, that is, have a little patience, one time will arrive for your device.
We also talked to Renato about the problem with the audio recording of these devices. We were informed that the Motorola are already aware of the failure, but still do not have a forecast of when it will be corrected, as they are still investigating the cause.
Explaining the problem a little: Most of the current devices have 2 or more microphones, one of them is responsible for capturing the main audio (generally our voice) and the others try to identify the ambient sounds and eliminate them, thus improving the quality of the Link. This same behavior was added to the video/audio recording on the devices, causing people's voice in videos to be recorded normally, but other sounds like a band at a concert or a dog barking are considered noise and discarded.
To Motorola, I thank you again for your contact and attention. I state once again that the space is open for communications with users. And, obviously, I'll be on your feet charging for the update.
