Motorola Edge 60 Pro brings long-lasting battery and professional camera

Tiago Rodrigues Avatar
Motorola's new smartphone delivers excellent performance for those who need a fast, beautiful, light and smart device, but does it compete with its competitors? Check out everything in our review

We tested the Motorola Edge 60 Pro, the manufacturer's new premium smartphone. In addition to its beautiful and attractive design, it also has a great camera setup and a good processor, but is it inviting enough for us to invest in it? Check it out in our full review!

Design

O Motorola Pro Edge 60 is a spectacle in terms of design. If we start with the front, its design with rounded edges and “infinity display” bring charm to the device. This makes it more delicate as well. Its back, on the other hand, has two variations. In the 256GB models, we have the colors azul e purple, the first with a nylon finish and the second in vegan leather. In the 512GB model, we have the options off-white e Grey — the one we received.

It's cool that there are these variations, but limiting certain colors according to storage size seems like a bad decision to me. Returning to the design itself, it goes against the grain of competitors that bet on the glass back, but that doesn't diminish the quality of Motorola's smartphone in this regard. The grip of the device is excellent and at least in the variant we received, it doesn't slip.

In the camera modules, there are three lenses and a flash. This part of the design was quite confusing, since it looks like there are four lenses. Fortunately, this module is not too protruding and does not give the impression that at any moment we can hit and break everything there. The sides are made of aluminum and have microphones on each side for better audio capture, a drawer for carrier chips, a USB-C port and an output for stereo speakers. As for the buttons, there is something new here. The right side has the volume and power buttons, while on the left side we have a new button, exclusively for using the AI motorcycle.

To protect against accidents involving water, Motorola has included IP68 certification here, ensuring the Edge 60 Pro's survival against dust and water for up to 40 minutes at depths of up to 1 meters. It weighs 186g and is very thin, at 8,2mm thick, which can be a blessing or a curse, depending on the user.

In the box, in addition to being scented, we have the manuals, the key to open the chip drawer, a USB-C to USB-C cable and a 90W charger.

Fabric

Motorola Edge 60 Pro screen brings high resolution and protection
Screen features p-OLED technology and great colors (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/ Showmetech)

The use of the Moto Edge 60 Pro's screen is something that really catches your eye when you look at it for the first time. As the name suggests, it features this design with emphasis on the edges of the screen, something we've seen since the first generation back in 2020 and that remains strong here.

This decision allows the screen to make optimal use of the smartphone's front space, with thin bezels and just one hole for the front camera. As for the technology used in the panel, Motorola maintains the p-OLED. Colors look beautiful on this panel, with excellent contrast, up to 1 billion colors, and brightness of up to 4500 nits peak brightness. It also supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, but no LTPO here.

The resolution is 1,5K Super HD (1220 x 2712 pixels), which is between Full HD and 2K and provides a high level of detail on this 6,7-inch screen with Pantone certification for colors. The aspect ratio of the screen is 20:9, corroborating the thinner and taller design of the smartphone. It also supports HDR10+.

(Image: Reproduction/ Motorola)

For social media apps, this screen and format are excellent, not only because they make better use of vertical space, but also because of the high frame rate achieved, allowing for smoother scrolling. However, for horizontal content such as movies and YouTube videos, the 20:9 aspect ratio can be a problem, leaving large borders on the sides and cutting off the content if zoomed in.

In games, however, we can make the most of the screen, with its beautiful colors, high frame rates in compatible games and even its more stretched formats. To protect this screen, count on Corning Gorilla Glass 7.

Processor

motorola edge 60 pro chipset specifications
Motorola Edge 60 Pro chipset specifications (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/ Showmetech)

For this model the Motorola opted for a Mediatek processor. The chipset chosen was the 8350-nanometer Dimensity 4 Extreme. This model is quite powerful, but not the most powerful of the brand — that would be the Dimensity 9400. If we make a brief comparison, its performance is slightly lower than that of a Snapdragon 8 Gen2. But how does he do in everyday life? Let's look at the details.

For system usage, calls, social media apps and entertainment, the Motorola Edge 60 Pro performed very well in everything, without crashes and opening everything very easily. This chipset also features the Mali G615-MC6 GPU, which is great for gaming, and even performed very well in the new update. Minecraft with resources of Ray Tracing.

I also noticed that the smartphone never overheated. I only felt it getting hotter during our benchmark tests, which stress the device for long periods. Otherwise, we have a very attractive option for those looking for performance.

Insights

We tested the Moto Edge 60 Pro in two applications: Geekbench 5 and AnTuTu Benchmark. These tests do not define what the smartphone is actually like, but they serve to give us an idea of what it has to offer in its main tasks.

Geekbench 5

Check the results of Single-core, Multi-core e GPU:

AnTuTu Benchmark

The Moto Edge 60 Pro has reached 1.365.250 points here, putting him in the top 50, showing his power. Check it out:

System and interface

motorola system
Motorola Edge 60 Pro comes equipped with Android 15 (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/ Showmetech)

O Motorola Pro Edge 60 comes updated to the Android 15 under the interface Moto UI. This interface has some unique features, but it is essentially what we call pure android. I admit that this idea was already more interesting in the brand's smartphones, where they really came clean e pure. Even though aesthetically it follows what Google thinks of as Android, the smartphone comes full of apps that we don't want.

In practice, using Motorola's smartphone is very easy, allowing you to use virtual buttons or gestures, in addition to having good customization options. However, I am bothered by some limitations, such as not being able to delete a home page to create everything from scratch, having to go through app by app to make everything more your own.

Another thing that Motorola implemented here that didn't look good is the new control area. It's not activated by default, and that's a good thing. This new area follows the current standards, with the right side for quick controls and the left for notifications. The problem is that it's confusing and poorly designed. I'm commenting on it because having quick access to brightness and volume are useful functions that are hard to get out of, but when the system doesn't help, it's better to stick with the classic way.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro Control Centers

Regarding customization, in addition to being able to change the home and lock screen photos, we can add themes, fonts, color patterns, change the shape of icons, change ringtones, text and text size, home screen layout and much more. It is worth mentioning the fingerprint animation option, making the device more stylish when unlocking. edge lights They also bring more particularity to the device. With it, if the screen is facing down when receiving notifications, the edges will light up for a moment. It's cool, but not as useful as it seems.

The lock screen is also customizable, but it falls short compared to its competitors. You can change the clock type, add widgets and others, but the options are quite limited, although some look really cool.

To wrap up this topic, it's worth remembering that Moto's features are still here. Shaking your wrist twice opens the camera, shaking it twice turns on the flashlight, and there are also some new features like double-tapping the back of the phone to perform an action. There are many options available and at this point it's undeniable that the system is very well-designed.

Artificial Intelligence

Moto AI, the artificial intelligence of the Motorola Edge 60 Pro
(Image: Tiago Rodrigues/ Motorola)

Motorola's Artificial Intelligence is called Motorcycle AI and it didn't convince me. Even though it has a button for it and the device's focus is very strong on that, in everyday use it seems like a very weak feature to me.

By pressing and holding the AI button from the smartphone, the menu of AI motorcycle appears on the screen, offering some tools. If you tap on the microphone, you can ask her things, but it's far from being something like the Gemini — present here too — or ChatGPT.

Two other features that are flashing around here are the Save for later and Write it down. The first is an easy way to save relevant information to do at another time. I must say that the idea is cool, but I found it a bit confusing to find what we saved for later, in addition to it taking a long time for everything to be processed. The second is the voice recorder option with instant transcription. Although transcription requires you to have excellent diction to work, it is a useful feature.

An AI without creation functions wouldn't be an AI, would it? That said, it is possible to create wallpapers, emojis, images from scratch and much more. Despite the options, the results are mostly weird and even stray from what we are asking for.

Lastly, Motorola has implemented some AI features into the cameras as well. You can use the filter AI Personalization where we can upload multiple images of food, people, and landscapes to create unique styles. Once again, however, I noticed that this process was slow. It took more than 10 minutes to generate the filters and it still gave an error.

We tested early versions of the Moto AI in our reviews of the Moto Razr 50 e Moto Razr 50 Ultra and indeed we have seen improvements since then. However, there are still some refinements needed for it to become a model in the market.

Memory and storage

(Image: Reproduction/ Motorola)

O Motorola Edge 60 Pro arrives with two variants: 256GB or 512GB. The storage technology used is UFS 4.0, great for faster installation of apps and updates, as well as improving file movement.

In terms of RAM, there are 12GB of physical RAM in both versions and another 12GB of virtual RAM. This makes the smartphone a super fast and fluid device for any task, in addition to being able to keep many apps open in the background without difficulty.

It is worth highlighting here that the smartphone is sold in four color options, the azul e violet available in the 256GB version and the Grey e off-white in the 256GB version.

Connectivity

Connectivity on the motorola edge 60 pro
(Image: Tiago Rodrigues/ Showmetech)

The Moto Edge 60 Pro offers an excellent configuration for those who need the latest connectivity technologies. It supports WiFi 6E, which guarantees higher speeds and more stability on compatible Wi-Fi networks. It also features NFC for wireless payments, as well as GPS sensors to enjoy the use of maps and other location apps.

The SIM tray only allows 1 physical chip and the device is also compatible with 1 more eSIM. In Bluetooth, it has the version 5.4, ensuring greater range and high sound quality as well. Finally, it features a fingerprint sensor under the screen that works super well with optical technology.

It is worth mentioning here the Smart connect Also, Motorola’s “Dex Mode.” It’s not new to this model, but it’s a really cool feature that makes it much easier to use between devices, be it tablets, notebooks, smartphones, or even smart TVs. I was surprised that it actually simulated the use of a desktop, including when using apps, which seem better suited for multitasking and even opening multiple pages of the same app to use a split screen.

Audio

Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos on Motorola Edge 60 Pro

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro has two speakers on its body, creating stereo audio. One of them is on the front of the device, just above the front camera, and the other is on the bottom, next to the USB-C port. The sound quality is good and it does an excellent job of providing a good experience in games, movies and other entertainment services, as well as, of course, voice and video calls.

The technology Dolby Atmos is present once again here, bringing more power to the smartphone's sound, both on speakers and when used through headphones. The compatible codecs for Bluetooth headphones are SBC and AAC.

As for the microphones, they capture well and we have one at the bottom, one at the top and another on the right side, a positive point for the smartphone.

Battery and charging

Motorola edge 60 pro brings 6000 mah battery

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro has an incredible battery 6.000 mAh. This number combined with the good processor delivers great battery life in this model. The highlight, however, is that this model inaugurates the use of batteries silicon carbon in the brand's smartphones. This technology allows for more powerful and efficient batteries, but with smaller physical sizes.

The results here are quite impressive, easily lasting more than 1 day with moderate use and reaching 2 or 3, depending on usage. The manufacturer promises up to 45 hours, in a mixed usage profile. In our other smartphone reviews, we always use the graph provided by the device's settings to help us with the information. However, as you can see in the images below, the Moto Edge 60 Pro's graph is not the best and ended up confusing me much more than helping.

Charging time is approximately 50 minutes on the 90W TurboPower charger included in the box. That's actually an excellent amount of time considering the device's massive battery. It takes about 20 minutes to reach 50 percent.

What can be said is that even under heavier use, whether watching movies or playing games, or even recording videos, the battery takes a long time to run down and you will rarely need to carry the charger in your backpack.

One thing I tried to test and noticed that it had in the previous model, but not here is reverse charging, useful in case of emergencies, but mainly to charge headphones or smartwatches.

Rear cameras

And finally, we come to one of the coolest points of the Motorola Edge 60 Pro. The main rear lens has a sensor Sony LYTIA 700C, capable of capturing great images, with good colors and resolution, even in less well-lit places. The smartphone also has a 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x zoom, as well as an ultrawide lens, also 50MP, which can also take macro shots.

The set is very interesting and allows you to record great moments. In videos, you can record up to 4K at 60 frames per second, with some zoom limitations when at maximum quality, such as recording with 10-bit HDR. Below you can check out some photos that we selected for our review, with details of each of the lenses used:

Frontal camera

To complete the photography kit, we have a 50MP camera on the front. It has a nice f/2.0 aperture and a good field of view to fit more people in the photo. The result is not impressive compared to others on the market, but it is certainly a great example of a front camera. Check out some photos taken with it:

Price and availability

(Image: Tiago Rodrigues/ Showmetech)

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro was launched on May 14, 2025, alongside the Moto Raz 60 and Moto Razr 60 Ultra. The suggested retail price at its launch was R$3.999 in the 256GB model and R$4.999 in the 512GB model. It is now possible to find the smartphone at more attractive prices. Check it out:

  • Motorola Edge 60 Pro 256GB per R$3.529 on Amazon
  • Motorola Edge 60 Pro 512GB per R$4.499 on Amazon
  • Motorola Edge 60 Pro 256GB per R$3.599 on Mercado Livre
  • Motorola Edge 60 Pro 512GB per R$5.141 on Mercado Livre
  • Motorola Edge 60 Pro 256GB per R$3.799 in Magazine Luiza
  • Motorola Edge 60 Pro 512GB per R$4.748 in Magazine Luiza

Conclusion

Front part of the motorola edge 60 pro
(Image: Tiago Rodrigues/ Showmetech)

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro definitely doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's a smartphone that will handle all your daily tasks very well, takes great photos, runs games with good quality and, of course, has a decent battery life with more up-to-date technology than others in the same category.

Its biggest problem, however, is its price. Even with the offers, it costs around R$3600 for the 256GB version, which I consider high since it is possible to find the Galaxy S24 fe, for example, around R$3000 and it has similar hardware, but with a much more complete and competent AI, lacking only in battery life.

Of course, in the end, it all depends on your personal taste and how much you're willing to invest in a new smartphone. But for now, buying the Motorola Edge 60 Pro seems like going to eat a carrot cake and it being without frosting.
