Even with the aggressive pricing policy practiced by Xiaomi and Asus, the prices of the Moto G 3rd generation have risen.

If the prices of Third generation Moto G didn't please everyone at launch, today's news doesn't improve the scenario. All variants of the line have undergone readjustments and despite aggressive competition from Xiaomi and ASUS, the manufacturer increased prices.

Os old values, practiced by the official Motorola store were these:

  • The most basic model, with 8GB of internal space and 1GB of RAM, costs R$849,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 806,55 in cash).
  • The option with 16 GB internal space and 1 GB of RAM goes for R$889,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 844,55 in cash).
  • The version with 16 GB internal space, 1 GB of RAM and Digital TV costs R$929,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 882,55 in cash).
  • The model with 16 GB of internal space and 2 GB of RAM costs R$979,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 930,05 in cash).

With readjustment, it was like this:

  • The most basic model, with 8GB of internal space and 1GB of RAM, costs R$899,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 854,05 in cash).
  • The option with 16 GB internal space and 1 GB of RAM goes for R$939,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 892,05 in cash).
  • The version with 16 GB internal space, 1 GB of RAM and Digital TV costs R$979,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 930,05 in cash).
  • The model with 16 GB of internal space and 2 GB of RAM costs R$1.029,00 in up to 10 installments (or R$ 977,55 in cash).

Now there's also the special edition that comes with headphone jack. Bluetooth that costs R$1.099,00.

In a few retail stores, it is still possible to find the device for lower prices. Will the company be able to maintain the good sales history of the M?

The rise in the dollar is one of the possible explanations for the increase. We contacted the Motorola to try to know the motivations for this change, we will update the post when there is a response.

UPDATE: Motorola has sent us a notice informing you that “is making every effort to minimize the impact of the variation of the dollar against the Real on its products. Since the launch of the Moto G (3rd generation) at the end of July, there has been a significant appreciation of the Dollar and the increase defined for the Moto G has been less than this exchange rate variation.”
