We arrived in December and the infamous lists of retrospectives are here! And, of course, one of the best known is the music streaming. And while it is not yet available the Spotify Retrospective - Where Spotify Wrapped, Spotify's official tool for checking out your personal retrospective — we can see our most listened to songs through Stats for Spotify. See how!
What is Stats for Spotify?
There are many resources to check which songs, albums or genres we are listening to on our favorite streaming services, for example through the Last.fm. And speaking of the most popular music streaming service, Spotify, we'll talk a little bit about Stats for Spotify, which provides some interesting metrics such as:
- Top Tracks: Most played tracks;
- Top Artists: Most played artists;
- Top Genres: Most listened to genres;
- Recently Played Tracks: Recently played songs.
All these metrics have three different periods that can be seen, namely:
- Last 4 weeks: What have you been listening to during the last four weeks (one month);
- Last 6 Months: What have you been listening to during the last six months;
- All time: What you've been listening to since the beginning of your Spotify account.
Once you log into the site and search for the metrics you're interested in checking out, you'll be able to take screenshots to post on your social media and share which songs, albums and artists you've been listening to the most lately! While we wait for the Spotify Retrospective, which showcases the entire year's retrospective, let's check out what else we've been listening to.
How to use Stats for Spotify?
It's all very simple, you just need to access the website Stats for Spotify, link your account from Spotify and ready! Then you will see the metrics you want. Check it out:
- Go to the Stats for Spotify website and click the green button “Login with Spotify";

- On the next screen, choose how you want to log in to your Spotify account, being possible through your Spotify account. Facebook, Apple , Google, With your phone number or with your own account Spotify, via login and password;

- After linking your Spotify account to Stats for Spotify, you will be redirected to on their homepage Homepage website, where you can check different metrics, check it out;

- Na upper part there are a number of options, being almost the same as the green buttons in the center, with the difference that “Recently played” does not appear, so we are guided by this option bar above.
Most listened to songs
By clicking on “top tracks“, you will be able to view which were the most played tracks on your Spotify account, having as a time period the last four weeks, last six months or all the time the account was used;
At the bottom of the page, you can see a green button titled “create playlist” which, when clicked, will automatically create a playlist in your Spotify account with the tracks included in the metric you chose.
Most listened to artists
The same happens in "Top Artists“: it is possible to check which artists are most played in the periods of one month (the last four weeks), the last six weeks and during the entire period that you use this account;
Most listened to genres
Now a little different from what we've already seen, in Top Genres Metrics are displayed in the form of graphs rather than images. In it you can check which genres or types of music are most played. Despite being different in its display, the metrics are the same: it is possible to check the most played genres in the last four weeks, last six months and during the entire period that the account was used;
Recently Listened Songs
Last, but definitely not least, we now have the “Recently Played Tracks“, a tool that displays a list of the last tracks that were played on your account. Also different from the previous ones, which were displayed with images or graphics, Recently played Tracks displays your recently played songs through a list that, as in the first two topics, shows the 50 last listened songs. When you click on a track, the website redirects you to the Spotify website or app, so you can listen to that song again.

At the end of Recently played Tracks there is a note informing that the track is captured by this resource if it is played by at least 30 seconds and that, if heard through a Private Session, it will not be displayed in this metric. Now that you've seen how the Stats for Spotify, how about showing your friends on social networks which were the most listened to songs by you in recent times?
