Those who have debts with banks in Brazil will be able, as of this Tuesday (1), to renegotiate them thanks to the Debt Negotiation and Financial Guidance Task Force, a joint initiative of the Central Bank, FEBRABAN, the National Consumer Secretariat and the various Country procons. Check the details below:
The details of the Renegotiation Task Force
The initiative seeks to help individuals who, for personal reasons, ended up failing to pay some portion of a contract with one of the participating banks – thus clearing their name and allowing them to start recovering their credit. The event has already had one edition this year, with 1,7 million overdue contracts being renegotiated.
In the edition that started this Tuesday (1) and runs until November 30, debts can be renegotiated on credit cards, overdrafts or any other type of credit, so that they are in arrears and are not contracts that have goods, such as vehicles and real estate, as collateral.
The participating banks in the effort are as follows:
- Banco do Brasil;
- Carrefour Bank;
- Inter Bank;
- BanPara;
- Bradesco;
- Cashier;
- Cetelem;
- Daycoval;
- Digimals;
- Inbursa;
- Itau;
- Paraná Bank;
- Senff.
How to renegotiate debt on consumer.gov website
To renegotiate the debt during the joint effort, it's simple. First, it is necessary to go to the official website consumer.gov.br and login with the Gov.BR account, which is done with the CPF on the Brazilian government website.
After logging in, on the main complaints page, simply press the “new complaint” button and a form will open.
At the top of the form, in the “Company Name” field, put the name of the Bank through which you want to renegotiate the debt. In the case of the photo, we use Itaú as an example.
Also in the form, it is important to describe the contract number, and the proposal being made to remedy the debt with the institution. In addition, it is possible to attach files, if you believe it is necessary for the negotiation.
Once the form is completed, click on “Next” and the proposal will be sent, with the banks having 10 working days to respond with the affirmative of the negotiation or refusing the proposed values.
