When we think of the word “Giant” it is natural to think of ships, aircraft and large skyscrapers. But even knowing that the Samsung is a giant of the business world, not everyone knows that the South Korean company is behind these and other gigantic works and products in the world today.
The group Samsung is a transnational corporation operating in various fields of information technology with headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. Its revenues are so large that they are compared to some countries with total GDP – the Samsung would be the 35th richest country in the world. It is recognized as the most prestigious firm in South Korea, attracting and employing many of the most talented and talented people from different countries, with 25% of its employees holding a PhD degree or equivalent.

A Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company. For three decades, the group has diversified into areas such as food processing, textiles, insurance, security and retail. He has been in the electronics and construction industry since 1960, including ships and military equipment. Note some numbers about the company:
- Since 1983 it has been the largest producer of memory chips;
- In 2011 it became the largest smartphone maker in the world;
- Since 2006 it is the largest TV manufacturer in the world (they are also the largest producers of LCD panels);
- The company invested $14 billion in research in 2014;
- It has 490.000 employees worldwide (more employees than Apple, Microsoft and Google combined)
- 17% of Korea's total GDP;
- Revenue in 2014 of 305 billion (Google = 66 billion – Apple = 183 billion);
- Made by 80 different types of companies and associates (businesses are commercially and legally independent).
