YouTube Music gained two very interesting updates. The first is the feature of lyrics synchronized in real time with the song you are listening to at the moment, something that has been present for a long time in competitors like Spotify e Apple Music.
The other novelty was officially presented on Tuesday (15) and it is called Discoveries. It is a new app tab and works like a feed the fashion TikTok to let you know new music. The resource is very interactive and promises to make life easier for those who, like me, love discovering new sounds.
How to enable synced lyrics in YouTube Music?
Even arriving late, this function is more than welcome in the app and does not require any technique. The difference is only for the tab letters while you play your music. Before, they were just text with a small font and no interaction at all.
From now on, they work like karaoke, with a much bigger font. When you touch a section on the player, you jump right to that point in the song and, of course, it's all synced so you can follow along in real time as you listen.
There is also a transparency effect on the background of the lyrics that adapts to the album cover of the song and guarantees a very beautiful and interesting visual experience.
Everything I've said here, however, is nothing new for any user of Spotify, Apple Music and even Amazon Music. However, given the size of YouTube and how valid its Premium subscription is currently, this happens to be a very important update for the app.
Discovery mode details
Originally called Samples, this new function comes as a response to what we have today in networks like TikTok and even the Shorts from YouTube. The difference is that the focus is 100% on the music and how you can discover new sounds and new artists.
Next to the “home” tab, from now on you will have the “discoveries” menu. When you tap on it, the app will already play a song along with a video clip of it. If you tap on it, you pause or press play, but what draws attention are the functions on the right side.
There are five options, which improve the use of the app and make it easier to create new playlists or save new songs. The first is the "I liked", which saves the song to your library. The second is the "to add", to place the song in question in the playlist you want. In “shorts”, you go to a YouTube page where other creators have used the music to create shorts and also allows you to create a new one with it. Then we have the option "to share", which is just for that, in any app you want. Finally, there is the button "reproduce" which takes you to the app's conventional player, but with the video clip.
In addition to all these functions, if you tap on the 3 dots at the bottom, you'll have access to the app's conventional music player menu, which allows you to start a radio based on the song, put the song in the queue or just go to the page of the artist.
And these were the two novelties of the YouTube Music. If you don't already have lyrics synced to your app, make sure your app is up to date. If even so, it is still not available, wait a little longer, as the feature is coming to everyone little by little.
you use the YouTube Music? Or do you prefer other services? Would these new features make you ditch the competition for the YouTube combo? Leave it in the comments and don't forget to check out our other posts here on the site.
