The new version of Google Play Services (5.0) brings, among other changes, new APIs that facilitate integration with smartwatches and other “wearable devices” that are starting to hit the market with the A.
It includes updates for the app. googleplaygames, Cast, Drive, Wallet, Analytics e mobile ads. If you're a developer of apps for the Android system, it's worth taking a look at what's new:
Dynamic Security Provider:
It makes it possible to replace the platform's own security APIs with one that can be updated frequently, making it possible to quickly fix security flaws.
Google Play Games Services:
Brings a new set of APIs called Quests. It implements time-based goals, allowing players to be rewarded upon completion. () Simply send game activity data to Quests whenever the player successfully completes a goal. With this implementation you can create unlimited missions for your players without the need to constantly update the game.
Saved games allow you to save your game progress in the cloud, thus making it possible to continue on different devices. Along with the game progress it is possible to store a cover image, description and game time.
Application Indexing API:
Allows better indexing of your mobile apps in Google search results.
Google Cast:
Now includes support for closed caption for Chromecast.
Google Drive:
Added the ability to sort queries, folders offline and more.
Google Wallets:
Now you can take physical objects from your wallet and store them in the cloud. Location-based notifications prompt the user to show or scan digital cards at points of sale. Users can now use their Google Wallet balance to pay for transactions.
Analytics:
Brings improvements to e-commerce, enabling a more detailed view of the performance of your business, including how users reach your products and where they are dropping out at the time of purchase. Allows you to analyze the effectiveness produced by marketing and affiliate programs.
Mobile Ads:
It's a great way to monetize your apps and you now have access to in-app purchase ads and can use in-app payment.
