Sony is expected to present several new features for the PlayStation 4 at E3

O PlayStation 4 has been a hit since launch and today it ranks first as the best-selling console of the generation, with twice as many units as the second-place Xbox One. In this state of supremacy, Sony cannot afford to be careless and it knows it well. It's not for nothing that every year you sweat E3 is a real thrilling show. In 2017 it should be no different, the company is already on stage with great franchises such as God of War, The Last of Us, Uncharted, Gran Turismo e Shenmue, all with new titles. Don't just expect that, the Sony is a specialist in coming up with surprises to make the public euphoric, but we don't have access to these, only at the same time. Sorry.

God of War

Kratos is older and bearded

Kratos was already showing signs of fatigue with God of War: Ascension, sixth and final game released. Although this title was chosen as the best in the franchise, its popularity did not reach the point of leaving the shadow of God of War III. Joining with the crisis of great games of the genre hack and slash, studio creator Santa Monica noted it could return with Kratos without continuing the same saturated formula. After the immense success and The Witcher III, why not get closer to something more open-world?

God of War will suffer a complete reboot. Norse mythology is the new background for the series, starring an older Kratos, bearded and accompanied by an infant son. Through this duo we will have a dramatic load never seen in the series, something like Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us.

The gameplay will also undergo major changes: the camera will be fixed on the character's back, and no two swords chained to the arms that in one blow hit several enemies. The combats will have fewer enemies, to be eliminated one by one. The new default weapon is an axe, but if you want, you can throw it at one opponent and punch another.

Still no release date, the new God of War has everything to impress at E3 2017.

Shenmue III

Dreamcast franchise to continue on PlayStation 4 and PC

Shenmue is a Sega franchise originated on Dreamcast and that the second volume was also released for Xbox, through a partnership between Microsoft and Sega. It was not expected that a third game could emerge as a PlayStation exclusive, even so, Sony took everyone by surprise and announced Shenmue III at E3 2015, causing a great astonishment in the public.

Series creator Yu Suzuki took the Sony stage in 2015 and revealed that Shenmue III has finally resumed, but that without any help from Sega, they would need at least $2 million to start the project. A Kickstarter campaign started at the same time and records were broken. On May 24th, the fundraiser was at $6,3 million. It's the highest value a game has ever gotten on the crowdfunding platform.

O game should be released in december this year and information on E3 2017 would be most welcome.

The Last of Us: Part II

Just that look is enough to see how Ellie has grown

This ad drew tears at PlayStation Experience 2016. Sony, you need to take it easy. The Last of Us: Part II advances five years into the story of the first game and has the responsibility to continue the saga of Joe and Ellie. This time, Ellie will be the controllable protagonist, a more mature adult character who now more than ever exudes strength through her eyes. O official teaser of PSX 2016 was so well received that the song played by the girl, through the valley by Shawn James, took the top spot on Spotify UK's Viral Songs Chart.

The production of this new chapter is being taken to a high level. For example, developer Naughty Dog called Halley Gross, co-writer of the acclaimed series Westworld to help with the script. The only information they said about the story: "it's intense".

The coming of this great name is not for nothing, as the continuation is interpreted by many as unnecessary. Certainly the most pressured team is the script. From there, the story won't be far from the first game, says Neil Druckmann, script director, he explains that the idea is to make the two games together be one big tale. We already know that we will need strength for the plot of Last of Us: Part II and we hope it will be better shown in the E3 2017.

Days Gone

In Days Gone you'll face hordes of dozens of zombies

Still in the post-apocalyptic theme with zombies, we have Days Gone, surprise announced in the E3 2016. Despite being somewhat similar to The Last of Us in this regard, it is quite the opposite, it is much closer to Left 4 Dead. In Days Gone you you will live under the skin of a biker and ride your machine through the devastated world, which is cool enough. The game's quests won't be easy to do, because the creatures freaks will be there to make it difficult. Following the L4D gameplay, hordes of several dozen zombies will chase the player, precisely because of this, with just a few shots an enemy dies.

However, the game will not be based only on shooting. The scenery will be your friend. There are several supplements to collect. Can you imagine using a part you found inside an old truck as a silencer for your pistol? In Days Gone it will be possible. Variety is also present when it comes to annihilating the freaks, not limited to simple explosives and shots, the promise is of a gameplay dynamic and engaging. Days Gone is not a simple zombie game.

It's impressive that a job like this is in the hands of Bend Studios, as the developer walked in the shadows of PS Vita bringing franchises like Resistance e Uncharted. She is best known with the classic series Siphon Filter. Days Gone is their first console production since the PS2, and is already a new mark in the history of the studio.

Death Stranding

Death Stranding, for now, is a jumble of confusing symbology that wants to tell us something in the trailers.

Remember PT? the demo masquerade of Silent Hill that left a lot of people scared as if they hadn't done it in a long time. It was produced by Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear Solid, along with help from Guillermo Del Toro, director of the Oscar-winning film "Pan's Labyrinth", and starring The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus. Despite the tremendous success, Konami ended the project and PT was pulled from the PlayStation Store. The case was such that there were people selling the PS4 with the demo installed for absurd prices.

Hideo Kojima left Konami, after so many years in “marriage”, founded his own studio (Kojima Productions) and announced a new game called Death Stranding. Together with the Japanese designer is Guillermo Del Toro, Norman Reedus and, now, Mads Mikkelsen. Unfortunately, little is known about the game: it will be about death, will be open world, multiplayer and "almost action", as revealed by Kojima. In addition, we only have very confusing trailers and not even a gameplay image. It is clear that the E3 2017 need to show what Death Standing is.

Gran Turismo Sport

Gran Turismo Sport will be the first in the series for PS4

Sony is treating racing fans with great carelessness. The PS4 has only had one exclusive of the genre so far and it was Drive Club. We have to be honest, the game was a failure. Meanwhile, Xbox One has already received four Forza titles. It is in this unfavorable scenario that Gran Turismo is returning.

Gran Turismo Sport is the new game in the franchise that promises “big innovations, the kind that haven't been seen since the first Gran Turismo”, says the official website. The new game will bring new cars, exclusive models, more tracks, in addition to 4K, HDR and VR. The partnership with the FIA (Fédération Internationale de L'Automobile) will yield two championships certified by the commission with the right to honor in an annual ceremony, as well as real-world car competitors. If you dedicate yourself enough to the game and meet some requirements, you can receive an “FIA Gran Turismo Digital License”. It has the same value as a real license and grants a registration in the national automobile club to be able to participate in competitions outside the video game! However, in the Americas only Belize and Mexico recognize legitimacy.

The game was announced last year with release date for 2017, but is already on pre-order and in closed beta. It's time to announce a date, Sony.

The certainty is: Sony knows how to make E3

You can come on June 12th

It is an indisputable fact: the Sony always stars the E3 with your conference. Including the games already mentioned, we should have more information about the DLC Uncharted 4: Lost Legacy, which will not be played by Drake, but by his Chloe in an unfriendly partnership with Nadine Ross; PS VR, a virtual reality headset that did much better in sales than expected, and Detroit: Become Human, futuristic “playable movie” by Quantic Dream. Of course, we should be surprised with more great titles that Sony is saving, but that we will only know even on June 12 at 22 pm (Brasilia time). Save the date? Sure!
