The result of the 2024 Cannes Festival included a rather risky musical, Emilia Pérez, by the French director Jacques Audiard.

The film presents classic elements, but brings an innovative plot, telling the story of a Mexican drug trafficking boss who has identified as a woman since birth and, in search of his identity, hires a lawyer to help him during the process of gender reassignment. Best Director
Miguel Gomes, Portuguese director, received the coveted Best Director award for his film Grand Tour during the Cannes Film Festival. This achievement marks a milestone in the director's career of more than 16 years, being his first award at the prestigious cinematographic event.

Set in 1917, the film tells the story of Edward (Gonçalo Waddington), a public servant who, on the day of his wedding to Molly (Cristina Tailor), flees to another continent. Special Award
The most recent work by Mohammad rasoulof, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, was awarded the Special Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. In the list of winners of the Cannes Festival, the American actor stands out Jesse Plemons, awarded the Best Actor award for his performance in the film Kind of Kindness, directed by Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos.
