O Paramount +, Paramount's streaming platform, released last Friday (23) the trailer for the 5th and final season of Star Trek Discovery, a series that has been airing on the platform since 2017 and has already brought together a legion of fans.

The series of David Cronenberg, director of The fly, already shows at the beginning of its trailer the prerogative of what will be a strong and emotional farewell, with the character of Martin-Green Sleeper (Michael Burnham) starting his prologue with the phrase “It was quite a journey, but it all ends one day”, and, in fact, on April 4th this long journey through the galaxy will begin its farewell and end after the last 10 episodes.

The final season of the saga will follow Captain Michael Burnham and the crew of the USS on an epic adventure across the galaxy to unravel the mystery of an ancient power that has been hidden for centuries.

The journey will also feature electrifying challenges between fan favorites and the crew's enemies, who will have to face each other to claim the hidden power.

The fifth season will feature well-known names, such as Sonequa Martin-Green (Captain Burnham), Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), WilsonCruz (Dr. Hugh
Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Neighborhood Blu (Adhere) and Callum keith rennie (Rayner).

In addition, the series will also feature special guest appearances such as Elias Toufexis (L'ak) and Eve harlow (Moll), who will play the villains of the new season of Star Trek and will face the characters of Sonequa Martin-Green and the crew of the USS

The first Star Trek series launched in 1966 on NBC. At the time, the series known as The Original Series ou TS ended in the third season.
