Pokémon Sun & Moon impresses with new gameplay and changes game dynamics

There are no words to describe the new two videos with information from Pokémon Sun & Moon. It was expected that they would appear some new pokemon, perhaps the next evolutions of the starters, but it seems that the Pokémon Company showed that the next games in the main franchise are going to be really new.

It all starts when we discover that the exeggutor, that fern Pokémon with several eggs on its head took on a new form, the Alola form, as well as the Sandshrew and the Vulpix. Not to have to describe it, take a look at what the region looks like from now on:

New Pokemon and new attacks

Some new Pokémon were introduced in this gameplay, but apart from what looks like the Republican presidential candidate in the United States, Donald Trump, I will focus on Kanto Pokémon, those who are part of the 151 originals.

Four of them gained a new form of ice: Vulpix and its evolution Ninetals, which were fire Pokémon and now gained a different type and Sandshrew and its evolution sandslash that were earth type and are also different.

Another very interesting thing about the announcement is that Pokémon can now learn, with the help of trainers, a new final attack, called “Z-Moves”. This tweet explains just how strong one of these new attacks is:

No Gym Leaders in Pokémon Sun & Moon?

During gameplay, the four captains of the four islands that make Alola a region. After defeating them, you must battle with the protector from each place to become the island champion.

As nothing has been said about Gym Leaders yet, it's possible that Pokémon Sun & Moon is similar to the second season of the anime, which took place in the Orange Islands. In these places, there were no gym leaders, but competitions that trainers had to go through to earn badges and then participate in the final tournament. This would therefore be the first time that the main game would change its dynamics.

Rumors, rumors and more rumors

It looks like other first-gen Kanto Pokémon will have their type switched, among them are: Abra, Kadabra and Alakazam, Growlithe, Arcanine, Butterfree, Rattata, Raticate, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Doduo and Dodrio.

What makes it all the more interesting – and annoying on the part of the Pokémon Company and Game Freak, is that in order to discover these new forms, it will be necessary to transfer from Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow  Pokémon to Alola, via Pokémon Bank. These games are available for download from the Nintendo 3DS eShop. So don't expect to catch these little monsters while playing Sun & Moon.
