Review: The Darkness II – Worth playing

Hello gamers and game lovers on sale. One of the in-store promotions Steam this weekend is the game The Darkness II for just R$8,99. If you can't resist a good promotion and a good game, this promotion is for you. Hurry as the offer ends at 10am on Monday 18/8/14.

Game

The Darkness II is a game classified as First-person shooter e terror, developed by Digital Extremes and there's like publisher nothing less than 2K Games. Was released in 2012 and is available for PC, PS3 e Xbox360. In addition, it can be played in single ou multiplayer.

The game is a continuation of The Darkness which, in turn, was made by Starbreeze studios and also distributed by 2K Games. It was released in 2007 for the Xbox360 and PS3 platforms and could also be played in single or multiplayer mode.

It is worth mentioning that the game The Darkness was based on the HQ¹ namesake.

History

The game takes place 2 years after Jackie Estacado have avenged the death of his girlfriend Jenny using the darkness to kill his beloved's killers.

At the beginning of The Darkness II we have a Jackie who had managed to suppress the evil force, but there he was peacefully in a restaurant when he is brutally attacked. Our protagonist is seriously injured and his enemy is urging him to use the darkness. And that's how the game starts.

In the midst of a good dose of violence Estacado will have to find out who is attacking him and why. You will have to fight your own darkness and discover what role Jenny still has in this plot.

I really liked it. It's fabulous to be playing and at times feel like you're in a comic book.

Difficulty and Gameplay

The game offers us 4 levels of difficulty: Thug, Mobster, Hitman and Don. It's not an impossible game and it's great fun. So far it's been 19pm playing the main campaign twice. And there are still the Vendetta 

darkling

For most of the campaign we obviously played with our protagonist, Jackie Estacado, but at times we played with the darkling.

The Darkling, in addition to being a cutie, is Jackie's ally and helps him in most of the game. He is also responsible for some comical moments during the game.

Check out, in the video below, the first appearance of our little friend in the game. I confess that I finished the game missing hearing a “monkey.”

Vendettas can be played online, in cooperative mode, or offline. In this game mode we don't play with Jackie, but with four other characters: Inugami, Shoshanna, Dumond and Jimmy.

Tip

Shooting mini game and conquest That's Why I'm the Boss.

When you first visit the mansion look for dolphin outside the mansion. Talk to him, this will open a mini game of target shooting with bottles. To impress Dolfo you will need to hit all the bottles within 10 seconds.

The second time you return to the mansion, look for Dolfo again. This time after talking to him, a new mini game will open where you will have to kill pigeons. Hit 20 or more pigeons and impress Dolfo.

Impressing Dolfo both times will give you the achievement/trophy/archive: That's Why I'm the Boss

Audio and SoundTrack

In terms of audio it matches the game perfectly, but I didn't get addicted to the soundtrack. No music in the game made me addicted, listening nonstop after finishing the game.

Cons:

• Short campaign;

• No subtitles appear in certain moments of the game, for example, in the opening.

Pros:

• Gameplay;

• Extra missions after the main campaign ends;

• achievements;

• An immense wish that The Darkness III existed surprises you as The Darkness II comes to an end!
