In addition to presenting the Snapdragon 675 processor, Qualcomm took the opportunity to show its advances in relation to 5G technology

A Qualcomm announced this Tuesday (23), during the event 4G / 5G Summit, its newest hardware solutions for the mobile market. Among the main highlights, we have the presence of the new processor Snapdragon 675 and, in addition, new antenna modules 5G which are even smaller than the current ones. The company also took the opportunity to disclose information about the new reference design of a smart headset with the Alexa:

Games, photography and artificial intelligence are the focus of the new processor.

After all, what the Snapdragon 675 have to offer for the intermediate smartphone user? According to the Qualcomm, which is the maker of this and other chipsets, the new processor has three clear goals.

The first of these goals is to improve the performance of mid-range smartphones in games, since in the 600 line of processors from Qualcomm it is possible to notice a certain lack of breath to run some titles.

For this, the Manufacturer is working directly with developers and, through optimizations of graphics engines – such as Unity, Unreal, Messiah, and NeoX – better results can be achieved.

The second major focus of Snapdragon 675 is to improve the overall performance of Photographs. In addition to allowing smartphones to come with triple cameras, the chipset will also ensure better image quality and greater support for artificial intelligence.

And speaking of AI, we have the third major focus of the new processor from Qualcomm. Developed to get up to 50% of performance in applications of artificial intelligence, the new chip will make with that the smartphone can acquire information with more speed.

“Packed with great gaming performance, impressive camera performances and a multi-core AI engine, Snapdragon 675-based smartphones will bring new experiences to consumers around the world”, Said Kedar Kondap, vice president and product manager at Qualcomm Technologies.

Launched this week, the new Snapdragon should start to appear on smartphones launched from the beginning of the year 2019.

5G antennas will be present in smartphones launched in 2019.

The transition to 5G connection is happening and, with this, there is the emergence of the need for smaller and smaller antenna modules. At the 4G/5G Summit, Qualcomm commented on the new 5G NR mmWave, that are 25% smaller than those found so far.

“We are dedicated to providing manufacturers with more versatility in their 5G-equipped smartphones, and this has been possible thanks to great innovations from Qualcomm Technologies, further decreasing the size of the modules. 5G NR mmWave. This achievement reinforces Qualcomm's leadership in paving the way for 5G commercialization in early 2019″, Explain Christian Amon, president of Qualcomm.

According to the manufacturer, such modules will be available still on 2019, when smartphones compatible with the 5G technology.

Smart headphones reference design.

With artificial intelligence resources dominating the technological market, the Qualcomm has also invested in smart headsets with Bluetooth connectivity. THE Smart Headset Platform, then it will decrease the time and effort required to create an advanced Bluetooth headset by simplifying everything through reference design.

Based on Bluetooth audio chips from series QCC5100 – manufactured by Qualcomm – the reference design is intended to allow the personal assistant to Alexa, from Amazon, can be activated through a dedicated button on devices Android.

It is not yet known when we will have the possibility of having one of these headsets in hand. So stay connected to showmetech to stay on top of the world of technology.
