At an event held in the city of São Paulo, journalists and influencers were invited to learn about the realme 12 Pro + closely. The smartphone arrives in Brazil with an attractive price for the premium intermediate category and has a design that draws attention for its beauty. See all the details right now.
Design and canvas

O realme 12 Pro + arrives in Brazil in two colors: Submarine Blue (a shade of blue) and Navigator Beige (a shade of white). Both variants have a premium vegan leather back, and the company promises that it will be stain resistant. The official weight of the smartphone is 196 grams and it has a thickness of 8,8 millimeters.
A partnership with Ollivier Saveo, international master designer of luxury watches from Rolex, was made to finish the model. Around the cameras, there is a frame that resembles watch cases: the cut was made with a machine CNC so that the frame Golden Fluted have “a 360º luxury watch precision texture with 300 meticulously designed metal lines”, depending on the company.

There is a detail in the crown around the rear cameras that resembles bracelets in style. 3D Jubilee to create a better texture. Do you know that same effect seen on metal watch straps? A realme will also put this on the back of your new Android smartphone.
Talking about the screen, the new smartphone has a screen like AMOLED which displays images on FHD+ resolution, has curved edges, measures 6,7 inches and has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The model's peak brightness was 900 nits and it will be possible to see up to 1,07 billion colors.

The smartphone also has a fingerprint reader under the screen, but does not have a 2 mm P3,5 headphone jack.
Cameras

The big difference with this model is the periscopic zoom. This camera system is inspired by the periscope, a device used in battle tanks to observe the approach of enemies to the vehicle. The object has continually evolved over the years, also being used in submarines to monitor movements underwater.
The operation of the periscopes is carried out by the device's internal mirrors arranged in parallel at 45-degree angles, generating the reflection of images between them until they reach the observer's eye.
The periscopic zoom camera works in a similar way, with lenses being placed perpendicular to the device's sensor, while one is inserted into the back of the camera next to a light prism. The image, when captured, passes through each of these lenses until it reaches the prism, which reflects it to the sensor that performs the recording.

The great advantage of this technology is that it allows the use of optical zoom in images more effectively and without loss of quality, physically moving the mirrors in order to get closer to the image and then capturing the object as requested – in the same way as we see in the 10x zoom available in Galaxy s22 ultra, Galaxy s23 ultra e Galaxy s24 ultra, premium smartphones from Samsung.
For realme 12 Pro +, it was highlighted that zoom will be one of its best attractions. The intermediate smartphone has a 1/1,56” wide-angle sensor, a focal length equivalent to 24 mm and a wide aperture of f/1,8, which should help a lot in photos with low natural lighting. The manufacturer also claims that it will be possible to take photos with 0,6x, 1x, 2x, 3x and 5x zoom without loss of quality. 120x digital zoom was also announced.

The new smartphone from realme it has a triple feature at the rear: the 64 MP main lens has periscopic zoom, but there is also a sensor lens Sony imx890 ois 50 MP and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. This photo was taken with the prime lens:

The main camera was named “periscope portrait” and zooms up to 120x, allowing high-quality photos of the moon to be captured using “Moon Mode”. Other features are:
- Automatic zoom
- urban mode
- Starry Pro Mode
- Super NightScape Mode
- panoramic mode
- Pro mode
- Portrait Mode
- HDR
- Scene recognition with AI
- Beautification with AI
- Text Scanner
- Portrait Distortion Correction
- One Take Mode
- SuperGroup Portrait Mode
The rear lenses record videos in 4K quality at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps and also in 720P at 30fps and 60fps. Slow motion videos will be recorded in FHD (1080P at 120fps) or HD (720P at 120fps) quality.
Regarding the front camera, it takes photos at 32 MP and records videos in FHD quality (1080p) at 30fps. Cameras also use the processor's ISP, an area responsible for image processing and resources.
Among its features is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce image noise in low-light photos and videos. Portrait mode photos with the front camera promise to deliver high quality and fidelity on the most diverse skin tones, aspects that will be evaluated in the device review.

Finally, the realme entered into a partnership with filmmaker Cláudio Miranda, winner of the Oscar for Best Photography, which allowed the availability of three exclusive filters for owners of the realme 12 Pro +: Journey, Maverick and Memory. Watch:
The company also mentioned at its event that the partnership with Claudio Miranda resulted in improved capture of photos with blurred backgrounds (Bokeh or portrait mode), using an aspect ratio of 2,39:1. Check out this example:

Charging is done via the USB-C connection, which also serves as an audio output, but the model does not support wireless charging due to its back containing vegan leather.
