With specifications that can compete with other mid-range smartphone models in the Brazilian market, the realme C55 was released in Brazil with a beautiful design and cameras that deliver great results.
Already with Android 13 factory installed, the model, in addition to a 64 MP camera and many special shooting modes, has functionality reminiscent of the Dynamic Island do iPhone 14Pro, that, here at realme, was named mini capsule. O showmetech was invited to the event and tells you all the details right now.
Design and canvas
With rounded edges that facilitate the grip on a daily basis, the realme put the same color-changing technology on the back that debuted on the realme 9 Pro +. Nominated by color shift, a photochromic layer bonded to a gel layer on the glass back is used. When sunlight reflects off the realme C55, the color begins to shine “like sunlight passing through the rain, creating an effect that illuminates every moment”, says the manufacturer.
A Collor rainy night (black) was also introduced. About the design details, the realme c55 it is 7,9 millimeters thick and weighs 189 grams. Charging is done via USB-C connection and we also have a 3,5mm headphone jack.
The screen on and off button has a print reader that can be used to unlock and confirm identity in various applications. The tray is triple: it allows the use of two SIMs and a memory card of up to 1 TB.
Finally, the model's screen measures 6,72 inches and has FHD+ resolution. The refresh rate is 90Hz and the realme also mentions that the peak brightness of the display reaches 680 nits, as well as 16,8 million colors can be displayed.
Cameras
At the rear, there is a 64 MP main camera that has many artificial intelligence resources to deliver better results. A 2MP depth sensor also helps here. The company highlighted that its 64 MP lens can enhance details to bring more texture and depth to whatever is captured.
One of the great successes of realme is also present in the C55: the urban mode 2.0. In practice, the software can not only identify the scene, but also perform improvements in capturing outdoor content. Are they:
- Rush hour: feature that manages to make the lenses focus on only one person, even if others are in the same image;
- neon trail: mode that allows lighting trails in photos, very common in professional photographs;
- Portrait with a trail of light: functionality similar to Trace Neon, but that allows focus on a specific person;
- light painting: still within the light trail, this mode allows a “drawing” to be created only with light trails (such as on a busy avenue);
- Peak and Zoom: allows the user to indicate the object or person that should be focused by the lens through a simple touch on the screen.
The 64 MP camera of the realme C55 it also promises better delivery of photos taken during the night. During the presentation event, an improvement of 40,4% was cited thanks to the 1,4 inch sensor and an intelligent noise reduction engine. Check this result:
There is also a named way of bokeh flare which, according to realme, can identify human objects for better background blurring. According to previews, the technology works well even at night.
An algorithm named after Dynamic Image Snapshot it is also present in the realme C55. It has been defined as a support for taking pictures of moving people so that noise is excluded in the result.
Finally, the camera on the back can shoot videos in 1080p quality at 30 and 60 frames per second, as well as deliver content in 720p at 30 and 60 frames per second. The 8 MP front lens with AI delivers videos in the same quality.
Processor and memory
The processor chosen by realme for this intermediate category model was the Helio G88 da Mediatek, which also equips the competitor redmi 10. Its octa-core CPU reaches the speed of up to 2.0GHz and it will be more than enough to run your day-to-day applications. The GPU is on account of a ARM Mali-G52.
The model will be launched with internal storage of 256 GB and 8 GB of RAM so that all the functionalities do not present problems. A virtual RAM feature (called dynamic RAM by realme) is also available and will deliver another 8 GB of RAM so you can go further.
It will also be possible to have more memory by placing a 1TB SD card in the tray where the chips are inserted.
Battery
A realme it is one of the companies that deliver the most good features in terms of battery life and this is proven once again with the launch of the realme C55. The Android smartphone arrives in Brazil with a 5000 mAh power module and support for 33W fast charging.
The charging technology takes the name of SUPERVOOC and, according to the company, delivers twice the speed compared to the realme C35. The company points out that the model can go from 0% to 50% in just 29 minutes. The model also reaches 100% of its capacity in just 63 minutes.
In addition to the smartphone, an 11V power source is shipped in the device's box so that the user does not need to use the charger of his old model (which may even be another brand and not compatible with realme's fast charging technology).
The maximum battery life was not informed by the company, but it is almost certain that it should be active for a good part of the day until it needs to go back to the socket. A high energy saving mode is also available for this high time to be expanded.
Operating system and connectivity
With really UI 4.0, the new smartphone arrives in Brazil with Android 13 from the first use. In addition to a new design, security features are also confirmed, such as the Secure Vault, which resembles Samsung's Secure Folder.
The great novelty of the company's interface is in the Mini Capsule, which takes advantage of the front camera for quick information display. On the realme C55, it was confirmed that the feature reminiscent of the Dynamic Island of the iPhone 14 Pro will be able to show “charging status, low battery alert, data usage, steps and distance walked and more”. See an example:
The model also supports 5G networks and a Bluetooth 5.2 antenna. And the sound has also been improved here: in partnership with Dirac, realme put a speaker with 200% power to allow good playback at parties, outdoors or other moments.

The new smartphone Android will be sold from April 05, 2023 with a suggested retail price of BRL 2.299. Nonetheless, whoever makes the purchase via Mercado Livre until April 07, 2023, can pay only R$ 1.799 in the new model. The promotion is also valid for the purchase of realme C55 on Amazon.
