Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (Finally) Comes to Steam

Resident Evil 5, the best-selling game in the history of Capcom finally wins its definitive version for computers. Formerly exclusive to Xbox 360 e Playstation 3, RE5: Gold Edition contains the additional chapters Lost in Nightmares, Awaken Escape and various extra content.

In Lost In Nightmares, Jill and Chris investigate the whereabouts of one of Umbrella's founders, Ozwell E. Spencer – who is hiding in a mansion very similar to the one in the first Resident Evil. Desperate Escape shows the path that Jill and Josh take in parallel to the main story. This adventure is much more focused on action and the frenzy of enemies. ()

The Mercenaries Reunion mode is an extension of the original The Mercenaries, adding classic characters like Rebecca Chambers and Barry Burton, and new outfits to existing ones. These outfits can also be used in the game's campaign mode.

The adaptation of the Gold Edition for PCs is part of CAPCOM's new policy of integrating several games that were released prior to Steamworks. Steamworks is the Steam service that allows the inclusion of achievements, cloud saves, trading cards and other features that the platform offers. Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2 Off The Record already received integration earlier this month.
