The game Atomic Heart is a third-person shooter developed by Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment e 4Divinity. The History of Atomic Heart

The game starts with a rather interesting premise, where a robot rebellion takes place, which we have been warned several times about artificial intelligence, stay away. But, human beings never learn! The game could easily look something like I steal, starring the illustrious Will Smith, the enemies even have a certain resemblance, but it went to a totally different side during the course of gameplay.

We have the protagonist and he is an infiltrated Major who is there to simply stop whoever is behind the robot rebellion, but that's not all, the objective of it, it may even seem clear, to stop who was behind everything, but that is not very well explained, his convictions are very little explored and he becomes a very generic character who is just there to be there, and that's where the problem with the story of the game begins, it lacked depth, emotion and charisma from the main character.

Major is a character without any personality, we only see him complain and that makes him a difficult character to create any kind of bond with, something that nowadays in games is being very well explored, but, in this one, that was very difficult. outside. Making immersion in the game almost nil, and in times of ever-expanding technology, leaving it out is a shot in the foot.

the scenarios

The game scenarios in the prologue were incredible, when entering the game, you see beautiful graphics, and it is almost impossible to keep your mouth shut with the graphic quality at the beginning of the game, but, as everything is not flowers, all this “magic” is erased after this first scenario, the game proves to be well below than is shown both in the trailers and in its prologue, the downgrade it's absurd, it looks like another game, making us believe and experience scenarios that resemble the last generation!

There is a positive point, of course, there is a "water" where you can cross between the scenarios which was a very cool idea made by the developers, in it you can run away from enemies and almost be immune to their attacks, where, this is very useful as the enemies are a bit difficult to deal with!

Apart from that we have more problems, the infinite doors that ALL they need to be opened with boring riddles, which there was no need to be there, other than to let the player spend more time in a scenario and that leaves the game with a much slower pace.

Atomic Heart Gameplay

The worst part of the game Atomic Heart, for sure, tried to do something similar to the incredible Dying Light, but they failed miserably, the gameplay is totally stuck and often doesn't work, it seems that the game just wants to dodge when it wants to, the control doesn't seem to be the player's. Enemies often seem to have the advantage and always have the same blows, there is an indication that they will use strong blows, and it is not known why, but they seem accurate at all times.

The game often “forces” you to hang between the rubble of the scenery, a cool idea, but, implemented in a very poorly done way, it's slow as we move between the pipes and places where it's possible to hang, and, moreover, , the objects that we can hang on to are not very well highlighted to make life easier for the player, which makes us waste precious time in the game.

weapons and skills

Maybe here the game got it right, the amount of weapons available in gameplay it's something cool and well explored, we started with an axe, and for those who haven't seen anything of the game before playing it will be surprised by the variety of weapons available to the player. I put here the electric gun as a weapon with an incredible bigger one, because it is simple, easy to use and very effective.

We have since weapons melee(melee weapons, melee weapons) as well as, firearms, electric weapons, and it is possible to make improvements to these weapons, making it much easier to gameplay.

There are also the character's skills that, whether you like it or not, there is a very large tree of options to assign points, you can, for example, cross a barrier of laser beams and get out of the situation alive, among others.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack in the game is weak, and without any creativity! They tried to deceive in the beginning with quality classical music, playing genius authors like Mozart, but that wasn't enough, the game's original soundtrack left a lot to be desired, the same music for practically all the common enemies, and that affliction was not passed, that if there was an apocalypse, with all certainty, we would feel.

Atomic Heart Verdict

Atomic Heart it was a surprise, negatively of course, the trailer gives us a vibe totally different from what is shown in practice. It lacked polish, lacked diversity of enemies, lacked more beautiful scenarios, lacked the parkour better done, a more immersive soundtrack, that is, the game was nothing like what I was told when watching the trailer.

The premise of the game was great, but it left a lot to be desired, both in the story and in the gameplay, being the most important parts of any game! Atomic Heart it was a disappointment, it is so far the biggest of 2023.
