Bluetooth speakers are increasingly popular, bringing more features and improving aspects such as battery life and sound quality. We received the speaker StormBox Blast, from the Chinese brand TRIBIT And, already giving a spoiler, this box is of such good quality that it looks more like a stereo monitor than a Bluetooth speaker. This is one of the products that surprises you.
Design

When you take it out of the box you already realize that it is a product with excellent construction, made with very rigid plastic and gives you the impression that it will last a long time. It's even important that it has excellent construction, as it vibrates a lot and the pieces cannot come apart. Another thing that draws attention at first is the weight: it's almost 5.5 kg in a medium-sized speaker, it's 40cm wide by 16cm deep and 22cm high.
Escaping a little from the traditional one we see in speakers, the StormBox Blast It has 32 LEDs that illuminate, pulse and synchronize according to the music. There are LEDs illuminating the woofer and also two bars on the sides and others on the speakers. It is possible to deactivate them, but even when turned off, when increasing or decreasing the volume the side bars light up to show the sound level.

The buttons on the top are very rubberized and very nice. Through them we can turn the box on and off, the button to pair via Bluetooth, buttons to increase and decrease the volume and among them there is a button that can be used to give play, pause, forward or backward, next we have the button to control the lighting and the last is an equalization button to focus on the bass.
Another highlight is the fact that it is waterproof, ideal for use outdoors, near the pool and in places with a risk of getting wet.
sound power

It has 90W of RMS power divided into 2 passive radiators on the sides, 2 woofers 30W in the center and 2 tweeters 15W on the sides of the front, which helps to give a greater sense of stereo sound.
sound quality

I have never had such a positive experience with a Bluetooth speaker as I did with the TRIBITStormBox Blast. The midrange is extremely balanced and natural, to the point where you wonder if the singer and band are singing in front of you. Seriously, it's surprising!
I used it in a room measuring approximately 6 x 6 meters and the bass was lots of gifts and full-bodied, with plenty of texture. Balanced highs, striking bass, quality and balanced sound at any frequency.
It's a box for listening to classical music, R&B, Jazz, and songs that have a greater presence of voice and musical instruments, without synthesizers or digital effects. Listening Life in Pink, re-recorded by Lady Gaga all with A Star Is Born, I felt like Gaga was right next to me singing.
The same happened with Tears Dry On Their Own, Amy Winehouse. For instrumental-only songs, like Moonlight, the presence of the piano in my living room was huge. Here at home, everyone loved the songs I played on it, and in all styles and musical genres.
Anyway, the sound is fabulous; If you intend to use it only for parties, you can be sure that it is capable of offering you sound quality far beyond what a party needs, you can lie down in the late afternoon, put on some music that you like to hear and enjoy each note, instrument and sound elements. Because of her I heard finger snapping in music that I listen to constantly and had never noticed (I forgot what it was).
It can't be compared to larger, more expensive passive speakers, which can reach lower bass frequencies, but for its price range and size, seriously, it's excellent. And for those who really like bass, when you activate XBass you still have a gain in the bass.
Her sound really fills the environment to the point where you don't hear sounds from outside: she dominates the environment and leaves you totally immersed in whatever you're listening to. I even used it to watch movies and it was great! It's not the most common use, but I was so curious that I decided to try it and I recommend it too. There is a delay very low between mouth movements and sound, but you can connect a P2 cable that solves it.
And if you want to have an even better experience, you can connect two StormBox Blast at the same time to experience stereo sound, a function that can also be done using the StormBox Blast app. TRIBIT.
Regarding supported codecs, TRIBIT StormBox Blast only accepts the codec SBC — AAC, LC3, aptX and LDAC were left out but this did not affect the sound quality.
Adjustable

You can use it with or without a wire, giving you the freedom to choose what suits you at any given moment.
Bluetooth
Another huge positive surprise was the Bluetooth connection. Connection after the first pairing is made almost instantly thanks to Bluetooth 5.3, one of the most modern nowadays.
O delay It is very low, almost imperceptible. It is via Bluetooth that you can control the application available for Android e iOS. There you can see the battery level, control lighting and make equalizations, if you wish. But we've already seen that its sound is extremely good, so it's unlikely you'll use it.
It works at approximately 40 meters, and even if you are in different rooms, with few walls separating you, it will reproduce what you are listening to.
As we said, it is possible to connect it to another StormBox Blast to have two boxes connected at the same time via Bluetooth.
Wired
For those who want to use it wired, it is also possible. In addition to reducing the delay in playback, avoiding glitches that sometimes occur with Vluetooth, helps increase battery life. In total it has 3 wired connections:
- Input for the power cable;
- USB-C input;
- Auxiliary input.
All of them are protected by the rubber lid that seals the compartment and guarantees resistance against water.
Battery

The manufacturer reports that the battery lasts around 30 hours, which is surprising. I used it for about 5 hours with the LEDs off and the volume oscillating between 20% and 90% for 5 days without needing to plug it in again.
The option to see its battery level in the system's Bluetooth menu was missing, something we see on other devices of this type, but through the TRIBIT we can find out.
The charging cable does not have a source, which makes it lighter and easier to carry. And easier to find to buy if you lose it.
Price and availability
You can buy the TRIBIT StormBox Blast in the company's official store on AliExpress for $ 1.058,00 On the date of publication of this text and the price, taxes are already included, meaning you will not have to pay extra fees. With the coupon “TRIBITUSD6” you even guarantee an additional discount. The valid period is March 18 to 28, 2024.
Another positive point about it is that the company's warehouse is in Brazil, which makes delivery time much faster.
Comments on the sales page indicate that the brand ships very quickly, and there are no delays or negative surprises during delivery.
Conclusion
The TRIBIT StormBox Blast is highly recommended for anyone looking for a powerful portable speaker, with great sound quality and a robust design. It is ideal for those who like to enjoy music anywhere, without worrying about rain, dust or other external elements.
The price charged is fair considering the sound quality it delivers. It could be prettier, but the lack of beauty is compensated by the exceptional sound quality.
