Wireless headphones are no longer a simple accessory for anyone who is a fan of music or even likes to watch various videos, movies or series with complete freedom to become indispensable in most people's daily lives. A little commented model, but which delivers a sound quality to be admired and a good battery, is the Champion TWS (acronym for True Wireless or true wireless sound).
The model can be found for the average price of R$ 600,00 and can even be considered an entry-level product, but the House of Marley, which has an ecological concept, did not fail to deliver a very complete experience. Find out what we think right now.
Design and construction
this headset Bluetooth It has a simple charging case, but it fits for literally every occasion. In black, but with rustic wood details that, according to the House of Marley, is from reforestation bamboo, it easily did not attract attention in my daily life.
The headphones themselves are a little more flashy, due to having the same wooden details where the multifunction button (to pause, play or play a song) is located on the left side. This item is not apparent, so I really had to “squeeze” the headset to discover it. According to the manufacturer, the sleeping and charging case weighs less than 100 grams and the headphones, I believe, weigh no more than 20 grams each. It feels like holding a dime.
Bamboo accents add that stylish touch without having to be too flashy, and the charging case is compact enough to slip into your trouser pocket and take anywhere.
Usage and connectivity
I'm not the type of person who is exactly a fan of headphone models. Bluetooth in-ear, but I accepted the challenge of giving this category another chance. And I realized that the problem in this case was the models I tested previously, as I had a quality experience and was able to use the model for 8 hours straight (a full working day here at showmetech).
In addition to the rubbers that are already included in the device as soon as the box is opened, there are two other sizes that can suit the most diverse ear sizes. I was afraid that after a whole day of work, my ear would be hurting from having an accessory sending music directly inside, instead of models supra-auricular (with sponge/cushion). But luckily, that's not what happened.
Equipped with an antenna Bluetooth 5.0, I had the best connectivity experience possible with the Champion TWS: Even when I was further away from the computer the headphone was connected to, I was still able to hear the music without any errors or problems. The manufacturer reports on its official website that the range between the “source device” is a maximum of 10 meters and the wireless headset did its job without any problems.
sound and microphone
Turning to sound, this was one of my biggest concerns for one simple reason: the House of Marley did not choose to develop its own application to control its devices. This may not be a problem for some people, but for those who like to have greater control over everything and even activate the special sound modes, the lack of an application developed by the manufacturer of the phone can be a little frustrating.

With the application of Spotify at its maximum volume and mine notebook with volume at level 15, I was able to listen to music with all the details of voice, bass and other instruments without difficulties. The maximum volume it can reach is somewhat relative depending on the apps you use, but the sound quality stood out in every aspect of my test.
Songs with higher tones were also heard with high quality and even though the voice was very thin, I was still able to hear everything in the highest quality possible. Despite being a pair of headphones Bluetooth, it is possible to use the headphones separately without loss of sound quality. When both are turned on, stereo sound is delivered so that everything is heard with that sense of depth. The microphone for calls is another highlight: despite having only one, located on the right earpiece, the voice was picked up without problems even outdoors.
What I missed the most was a noise canceling feature, because when I was on the street and some noise passed by, I had to wait for it to end before sending an audio without problems. At the same time, I understand that this model is part of the entry-level category, so there is minimal features so that the product is not sold at such a high price. But there is a suggestion of improvement for a second generation of the Champion TWS.
Battery and autonomy
After the sound, this one is the biggest highlight of this wireless headphone from House of Marley. Our daily lives have changed a lot with the arrival of the pandemic and if we weren't so connected before, the future has really arrived. For this, it is necessary that smartphones, tablets and other accessories have a battery that lasts at least 8 hours.
To measure autonomy, I used the Champion TWS during a working day, but I didn't put the models in the sleeping case, as the battery would recharge as soon as they returned there. After 8 hours of continuous use, the battery went from 100% to 50%. At 09:45 am the other day, the battery went from 50% to 20% in an hour. With this data, we can conclude that a full charge delivers 9 hours of music playback.
According to the manufacturer, the case lasts another 28 hours until connection to the socket is requested. This accessory, in addition to facilitating transport, also serves as a power source. In a week, I recharged the case just once and was able to use it completely for 4 days without difficulty.
For a model of the entry category, which usually gathers only the most basic functions, I would say that the TWS Champion did very well in terms of drums and will definitely be my partner in several activities. Whether listening to music or making small calls.
Price and availability
Sold in black only, the Champion TWS da House of Marley can be found by BRL 599,00 at Magazine Luiza. It is true that this value is above many headphones Bluetooth that you can find in the technology market, but it is worth remembering that the product is cost-effective considering the long battery life — which should only require a weekly charge in the sleeping case — and the high sound quality.
Conclusion
Despite not being the biggest fan of in-ear models, I had a very positive experience with the Champion TWS. My biggest complaint is the lack of an app just for managing the sound modes and displaying the battery percentage, as this ends up being done by the devices connected to the wireless headset.
The battery life was the point that most caught my attention, but its sound quality also stands out and, even without the volume at maximum, I was able to listen to music without problems. I would actually put a noise isolation feature on a second generation, but that's a subject for another review, in an upcoming release of House of Marley.
