O Galaxy S24FE arrived in Brazil at the beginning of October and has everything to be one of the highlights of the year. The model, in addition to having a premium design, has all the features of the Galaxy AI, an interesting set of cameras and seven years of operating system updates. Is that enough? See what we think.
Design

I need to start the review of Galaxy S24FE citing that it is aesthetically very similar to the Galaxy A54 and with its predecessor, the Galaxy S23FE. Its glass back gives it a more premium look and, for more clumsy users, there is protection Gorilla Glass Victus 5. It was launched in Brazil in four colors: Graphite, Gray, Blue and Green. Samsung sent us the Graphite version that fulfills the role of being simple and elegant at the same time.
The arrangement of cameras on the back follows a vertical position, with the bezels more prominent, making them all very relevant. Also on the back, we have the LED flash to support capturing content at night or in darker places.
Speaking of the grip in everyday life, its more rounded edges help it fit in your hand and, even after using it for hours, I didn't notice any discomfort. I also really liked that the fingerprint reader is under the screen, which helps with accessing the operating system. I recommend registering both your thumbs so you don't have to switch hands when you need to do something on your phone.
There are only three buttons on the device: two for volume control and one for turning the screen on and off. The basics have worked well on many Samsung devices for years. Some people prefer the fingerprint reader to be on the on and off button, but I think it works better when it's on the screen itself.
In conclusion to this topic, it is possible to give the model a new look by using covers in different colors. Samsung sent us two of them and they are interesting to have to increase resistance and durability. My favorite is the one that allows you to watch videos, movies and series in landscape mode, but check them all out in official website of Samsung, sold from R$ 96,10.
Fabric
Compared to the Galaxy S23 FE, the 2024 model's screen has been enlarged by 0,3 inches: it has a 6,7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, which displays images in FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2340), with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and peak brightness of 1900 nits.
Leaving aside the technical terms, the day-to-day user experience is quite satisfactory and even on sunny days, I was able to see all the information from apps like WhatsApp, Twitter, etc. I'm a person who prefers to use apps in dark mode because of the better vision, but light mode is better for taking advantage of the Galaxy S24 FE's screen.
Even though it has peak brightness, the device still delivers that mirror-like appearance when the brightness is reduced. In other words, you will still see the reflection of your face if the brightness is too low. It's not a huge problem, after all the ambient light sensor works very well, but it's worth remembering that this screen does not have an anti-reflective layer. Who knows, maybe next year this will come to the FE variant.
Furthermore, the large screen is a delight for those who like to view content directly on their cell phone. I really like models with more than six inches because it's a good way to resolve everything directly on the device you put in your pocket. Whether it's to watch a video on YouTube, edit videos on Capcut, view photos and videos on Instagram or read posts on X/Twitter.
Processor
For the Galaxy S24 FE, the Korean company chose the Exynos 2400e, a more affordable and simplified version of the processor seen in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. It also has a 1x larger vapor chamber compared to the one present in the Galaxy S23 FE, ensuring good hot air management.

In my day-to-day life, I didn't experience any problems with apps crashing, even when several apps were open at the same time. The use of AI is also assertive here, you just need to have internet to use some of them.
Below you can see the score of Samsung's smartphone on the Geekbench 6, which places it below the Galaxy S24 Plus, but above the Galaxy S23 Plus. It is interesting to note that, at the time of taking this measurement, the device was connected to the charger to access its high performance.

In general, if you are someone who likes a cell phone to play games, use social networks and also edit simpler content, this device will do the job. Here, I ran Asphalt 9 and, although it got a little hot (nothing more than expected), the graphics ran smoothly in all games.
System and interface

The device runs Android 14, via One UI 6.1.1. With the launch of One UI 7 in early 2025, it is certain that the Galaxy S24 FE will be one of the first to receive Samsung's new interface, based on Android 15.
During the launch event, it was confirmed that this model, like the other devices in the Galaxy S24 line, will receive seven years of OS updates, going up to Android 21. And there are also seven years of security updates. All free.

One UI's customization and features are here to provide a complete experience, and in addition to using any photos you want, you can also generate wallpapers from scratch by simply sending text commands. See this example:

The interesting thing is that if you have Galaxy Buds headphones or a Galaxy Watch smartwatch, the integration between these devices and the Galaxy S24 FE will be seamless. Since they are all part of the same ecosystem, you will have access to exclusive features, which adds value to your everyday life.
Use of AI

The same experience present in the entire Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 line is present here. Galaxy AI is, at the moment, the most advanced artificial intelligence platform for those who have Android and I dare say that it is the most advanced for Brazilian smartphones, given that the Apple Intelligence will only arrive here in 2025.
My best use was for photo editing: the ability to edit photos is a big plus here, especially since the Galaxy S line is recommended for photography fans. The tool for removing intruders assertively, requiring only an internet connection, is a big plus. Check out some examples below:

Other “hidden” features in the gallery, also present in the premium models launched by Samsung, can also be seen here: there is the motion effect, which creates a quick video through a photo, giving that different look to what you post. See an example:
And if a photo wasn't taken with a blurred background, you can do it, also through Samsung Gallery, in a few seconds. It's another tool that can differentiate what you post and a way to have a more creative profile among your friends and acquaintances. Here below you can see the before and after:
Speaking of the Remaster tool, it improves the quality of a photo. Thinking about practical use, it is worth remembering that social networks have a habit of compressing images so that they can be sent in less time, so having a remastered photo can avoid possible problems in your posts. Check out the before and after below:

With the Galaxy AI smartphone system, you can create portraits with three different strokes to post on the internet. The results are very accurate and you can play around with the tool a lot. See what it was able to create using just a base photo:

Another feature I really like is the drawing tool, called Sketch to Image. Interestingly, even though I don't know how to draw professionally, Samsung's artificial intelligence can not only create elements that are close to reality, but also create effects such as shadows and depth. Check out the before and after below:

AI is also present in videos: by pressing videos recorded by the rear or front cameras, you can create short slow-motion recordings, and you can have short videos in slow motion, but recorded in normal mode.
Other conversation tools are also interesting: you can chat with other people from other countries and have access to the instant translation tool on WhatsApp, for example.
A great helping hand is also the Circle To Search ou Circle to Search, which eliminates the need to take a screenshot to make use of the Google Lens. All you need to do is hold the home button and select what's on the screen. This functionality is not exclusive to Samsung, but it's great to have in a model that costs above R$4.

Finally, it is worth talking about the Call Interpreter, an interesting solution for when you travel and need to talk to a hotel attendant or anyone who does not speak English or another language.
Already counting on Galaxy AI since day one, Samsung was right to invest in AI in its smartphones.
Memory and storage

O Galaxy S24FE was launched in Brazil in two internal storage versions: 256 GB e 512 GB, without the possibility of inserting SD memory card.
Speaking of RAM, there is 8 GB in both variants, which is more than enough for both gaming and everyday activities. Performance can be even better when you activate the RAM Plus feature, which gives you access to an additional 8 GB, Samsung's standard on its smartphones. This way, you have up to 16 GB of RAM.

Apps crashing or lack of storage won't be a problem for those who choose this device: the processor is well optimized with the operating system and the amount of internal storage is more than enough to keep you from having problems for years.
Connectivity

In addition to connecting to Wi-Fi 6E points, the Galaxy S24FE arrives with support for 5G networks. Speaking of Bluetooth, there is an antenna that follows the 5.4 standard. For those who have doubts, the model also supports the installation of eSIMs, which opens the door to the installation of virtual chips when traveling to countries all over the world.
Battery and charging
There was a gain of 200 mAh compared to the last generation and the Galaxy S24FE comes with a battery with a capacity of 4.700 mAh, that Samsung says it is enough for a whole day and that it lasts 4 additional hours compared to Galaxy S23FE. The model also supports wired charging up to 25W and can be recharged wirelessly for up to 15W.
With 5G usage for a whole day, the device managed to work for 13 hours before needing to be plugged in again. Despite supporting 25W charging, Samsung chose to send a 15W source. With this, charging takes about 01h30 to complete.

The desire that remains in the matter of loading is that the Samsung can always deliver greater charging capacity to its devices and, even in the most premium category, it still leaves this stuck at 25W.
It's not really a big problem, but when you look at companies like Motorola, realme e Xiaomi, it is difficult to understand why Samsung For example, it didn't include 45W charging in all of its most expensive models. Maybe next year, despite this being a request from the brand's fans for years.
The pattern of having to wait for about 01h30 for the phone has not changed here and you need to decide whether this is enough for your day to day life or not.
Rear cameras

Starting with the rear lenses, the model has a triple set, consisting of:
- Home: 50 MP, f/1.8, 24 mm, dual pixel PDAF, OIS;
- Telephoto: 8 MP, f/2.4, 75mm, PDAF, OIS, 3x optical zoom;
- UltraWide: 12 MP, f / 2.2, 123˚.
The main lens is the highlight for capturing details and more vivid colors. HDR support makes contrast assertive, but in some situations I noticed that washed-out effect. It is possible to follow the post-processing that makes all the difference when it is completed.
The telephoto lens is also great for photos and allows you to take photos with up to 30x zoom. When we talk about optical zoom, it can be used at 2x and 3x. Above 10x, through digital zoom, the photos will be unpixelated and you may not have the best record for social media. Check out these photos at 0.6x, 1x, 2x, 3x and 10x:
The ultrawide lens also does its job for capturing wide-angle shots, ideal for capturing landscapes in portrait mode. Check out photos from the Galaxy S24 FE:
I really liked the night mode, which in addition to doing a good job thanks to the lenses, is also quite assertive in its post-processing. Despite having practically the same set of lenses as last year's model, I noticed that the photos taken by the 2024 model are more assertive when it comes to correction.
About video, the lenses of the Galaxy S24FE record videos in 8K quality at 30 fps. When we activate the super stable mode, the quality drops to FHD at 30 fps, a sacrifice for having better videos. I really liked the capture possibility and the possibility of keeping the focus on a point on the screen, which allows the configuration to be made before starting to make the recordings.
You can also use the dual recording mode for those who like vlogging. A very welcome detail is that you can now choose the lenses you want to use in the video. Like this:

Finally, it's worth mentioning that you can record videos with a blurred background and also in slow motion, at a maximum of 240 fps in FHD quality or 120 fps in UHD quality.
The conclusion I reach is that the Galaxy S24FE It is an ideal smartphone for those who like to post a lot of content on social media, with rear cameras that offer a content capture experience. The model may not be as assertive as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but it comes close and meets the needs of 90% of Brazilians.
Frontal camera

I've been praising Samsung's front-facing cameras for a while now, and they've only gotten better over the years. On the front of the Galaxy S24 FE, the Korean company has added a 10MP lens with a XNUMXMP aperture. f / 2.4 26mm. See this photo in night mode:
The capture of darker tones is the big highlight, but, in some situations, my skin, which is not so light, had a small washing effect in portrait mode.
Here, I believe that a small improvement is missing so that the automatic correction does not leave this washed-out effect. One thing that helps to avoid this is changing the color tone to Warm, but it would be nice not to need to use a filter for this.
Video recording can be done in UHD resolution at 60 fps, and it is also possible to use video recordings with a blurred background in slow motion. The content recording here is very assertive, without capturing external noise that could compromise the final recording.
My final opinion is that the Galaxy S24 FE is a great smartphone for those who want to have great records on social media, whether in photos or videos.
Price and availability
The device arrived in Brazil with a price considered a bit high for some people: R$5.499 in its 256 GB version. See the options found during the closing of this analysis:
- Luiza Magazine: 4 BRL.799 in the 256 GB version or by 6.499 BRL in the 512 GB version;
- Samsung: R $ 4.949,10 in the 256 GB version or by R $ 5.849,10 in the 512 GB version;
- Free market: 4.999 BRL in the 256 version or by 6.174 BRL in the 512 GB version;
Analyzing the market, the biggest competitor of this model would be the Moto Edge 50 Ultra and Xiaomi 14t, both released in 2024. Comparing only the price, the model of Samsung ends up winning, since it can be found for below R$5.
What's in the box?
the box of Galaxy S24FE It comes with basic items so you can start using the device as soon as you turn it on. Are they:
- Instruction manual.
- 25W charger
- USB-C cable
- Chip tray eject key
Conclusion
from afar, the Galaxy S24FE It is one of the best smartphones of the year, proving that the Galaxy S line offers the best for those who prefer to use Android. The model arrives to deliver a great content capture experience and its AI platform, available from the first day of use, adds a lot of value to everyday life.
Now, when we compare it to the other models in the Galaxy S24 line, it was characterized by Samsung as an option between the traditional Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+. It still falls below the Galaxy S24 Ultra and, if you are someone who values capturing content in high quality, the best way is to opt for the premium option.
But still, the Galaxy S24 FE has its negative points that don't make it better than the Galaxy S24 Plus, such as battery, small camera details and screen details. Therefore, it is a good value for money only if it is really more affordable than the Galaxy S24 Plus.

While this review was being finalized, we found the model for R$4.799, a value already below its initial suggested price, but still high in relation to what it delivers. It is interesting to note that the Galaxy S24 Plus has already been found for sale in 2024 for 3.989 BRL.
Looking at the price history of more complete models, such as the Galaxy s23 ultra, which could be found by 3.999 BRL This year, the time for anyone who wants a Galaxy S24 FE is to wait for a special Black Friday or end-of-year promotion.
I believe that, based on what it delivers, the price of the Galaxy S24 FE is R$3.500 in its 256 GB version. Being below that, the cost-benefit, considering that it will be updated for seven years and has the most advanced artificial intelligence platform of the moment, is more than right.
