REVIEW: Galaxy Tab S10 FE democratizes AI on large screens

With battery life to spare, Samsung has put some AI features into its new low-cost tablet, but has it worked? Here's what we think

With the concept of being an affordable tablet without leaving the features that left the Samsung with an even bigger name in the AI field, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE arrives on the market as a cheaper option than the models launched in October, leaving some points aside, but maintaining other essential ones. See what we think of the model.

Design

There is no denying that the device follows the “chic, but not extravagant” standard. Launched in three colors (Black, White and Blue), you can notice its high durability right away, due to its aluminum body. This also leaves room for the S Pen always stay connected to your tablet Samsung.

In terms of weight, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE follows the standard of devices like this. Carrying it in a backpack or even with one hand is quite easy due to it being a lightweight model, with an official weight of 500 grams, a small reduction of 24 grams compared to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. Even using it with one hand in portrait mode is quite easy, even though you're dealing with a 10,9-inch screen.

It's also worth mentioning its thickness, which is only 6 millimeters. The model is extremely thin, which helps not only with carrying, but also with everyday use, especially if you carry it around with you at various times of the day.

The model follows the standard of having only three buttons: two for volume control and one more to turn the screen on or off, where the fingerprint reader is also located. It is also worth highlighting the protection IP68K, which allows it to come into contact with water and dust, very useful in everyday life, as it was designed to go with you wherever you want.

This is how I start the review of Galaxy Tab S10 FE: it has a premium design even though it costs much less than the more complete (and more expensive) model launched in October 2024. An interesting step by Samsung, which made more internal changes than external ones.

Fabric

Galaxy tab s10 fe screen
Galaxy Tab S10 FE's screen reaches nearly 11 inches (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech))

The model has a 10,9-inch screen with WUXGA+ resolution (2304 x 1440), also being of the IPS LCD type, 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 800 nits, when the feature vision booster is activated. It is as if the screen gains an increment to be brighter in places with greater lighting. This is the same setting as the screen of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, without adding or removing anything.

Since this is a tablet focused on being sold at the lowest possible price, the lack of changes ends up being explainable, especially because its predecessor was extremely praised. But it is worth mentioning that an anti-reflective layer here, even if it were sold at a higher price, would be very good.

Galaxy tab s10 fe screen
Screen does not have an anti-reflective layer (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

In everyday use, the ambient light sensor does the job and controls brightness assertively, with color details displayed in excellent quality. The biggest “mistake” of the screen is that, since it does not have native protection against reflection, it will become a mirror if you are using apps in dark mode, such as Twitter or Instagram. But it is good enough and is within the mid-range tablet category.

Outdoor use turns screen into a mirror (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The model performs well in everyday activities, such as using social networks without any problems with transitions or bottlenecks when switching between applications. Of course, the processor, RAM and a well-optimized system have a big influence on this, but having a good screen, even if it has been taken over from the previous generation, will also contribute to this good final experience.

Regarding the use of the model as a whiteboard and notebook, it is worth talking about how the good experience of using the pen Samsung, S Pen, included in the box. Its use is similar to that of a digital whiteboard commonly used by designers, but here it can be used for everyday tasks, such as writing math exercises, handwritten notes that will later be converted to typed text, and more. You can also use it as a control for taking photos.

Pen can be used for a variety of tasks (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The experience of using the pen is very assertive and, even if you rest your hand on the screen, only your notes will be detected on the screen. This is nothing new on tablets (and even smartphones) from Samsung, but it is worth mentioning that what was good is still available. The famous saying: don't change a winning team.

Processor

exynos 1580 processor

Processing is very important and we couldn't fail to mention it. Samsung informs that the Exynos 1580, Comparing to Exynos 1380 present to us Galaxy Tab S9 FE, had a 200% gain in the NPU (the chip for AI activities), 43% in relation to the GPU and 34% in relation to the CPU. This makes the model a good option for those who work with several applications open simultaneously to avoid crashes.

In terms of games, the model is far from being made just for that, but it also performed well in titles like Asphalt 9, Free Fire e Sonic Rumble. Everything works without crashes and with the possibility of switching to other applications without delays.

For those who like benchmarks, the processor Exynos 1580 achieved 3084 points in the Multi Core test and 1336 points in the test Single Core, as you can see in the screenshot below. This is the same processor as the Galaxy A56, which we even have a review of and which also did well in what it was set to do.

Speaking of processing, this tablet from Samsung with AI arrives on the market as a good option for those who don't want to pay a lot and also don't do more complex activities, such as playing for hours in high resolution. The model actually surprises positively: online titles ran well, even considered AAA for more expensive smartphones and tablets.

System and interface

Galaxy Tab S10 Fe Operating System Data
Android 15 is present from the first use (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

From day one, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE arrives with the Android 15 via One UI 7, with several interesting features. In addition to the new interface that allows for even greater customization, the device will be updated for up to seven years, going up to Android 22. This is the same update policy as premium smartphones and tablets from Samsung, with the same being true for sending security packages.

A One UI 7 is one of the most interesting systems for those who want to have several products from the same brand, since the Samsung managed to integrate your devices into the same operating system. For example, you can connect your headset Galaxy Buds just by opening the case next to the tablet, without the need to access the Bluetooth settings. And the large screen can also be used as a control center for the connected home, displaying a 3D map, via SmartThings.

Large screen can be used as a hub for the connected home (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

If you want to use the ten-inch display as a second monitor for your computer, simply download the application D na Microsoft Store and connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi connection. In addition to no crashes, there is low lag so you can work with two screens. See the example:

Large screen also serves as a second screen (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

This way, you can safely say that you will have a tablet with an optimized system and, if you have more devices of the same Samsung, the integration will be seamless. Not forgetting to mention the detail that the same tablet will be updated for up to seven years, that is: until 2032.

And we can't forget to mention Dex mode, which allows for similar use to what a desktop provides, but in a much more portable model. Everything works very smoothly and if you connect the wireless keyboard or mouse cover, you have a computer at all times.

Artificial Intelligence & Apps

Galaxy tab s10 fe
Samsung tablet has AI, but not all the features (Photo: Disclosure/Samsung)

A Samsung announced that this was the first FE tablet with native AI from day one, putting a lot of emphasis on those who study and take notes on a tablet. In addition to having the same processor as the Galaxy A56, the models also share the same AI platform. It's still not the Galaxy AI seen in more expensive tablets and smartphones, but it's close.

When using Samsung Notes, you can activate the Math solver, which even works locally and without requiring an internet connection. It is also very basic, only being able to solve addition, subtraction, division and multiplication exercises. To make it work, just draw the equal sign (=) in front of the account. Watch the screen recording:

Still talking about the app Notes, the artificial intelligence present in the tablet can also improve handwritten text and even convert written text to typed text.

If you prefer to receive results from first, second and third degree equations, it is worth using the Google Gemini, via Circle to Search, to receive the answers and step by step to reach the result.

Besides the Circle to Search can be used in mathematical equations, it is useful for other functions that we already know, such as identifying items on the screen, recognizing music and even translating what you are seeing.

Galaxy tab s10 fe
Circle to Search can be useful for a variety of tasks (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

Na Gallery, we have some tools that help us use them well in our daily lives: object eraser (my favorite) is enough to erase unwanted items, although it would be interesting to see it also complete scenarios, as some smudges are still noticeable.

Before and after using AI to erase objects in photos
AI feature to erase intruders could be better (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

By clicking on the item Galaxy A.I. na Gallery, we also have the blurred background functions and a tool that promises to correct possible distortions in the lens. I characterize these as functions that say more than they do in practice, but the attempt is valid, but they would be better if the results were more apparent.

After the object eraser, the most interesting function of the Gallery is the Remaster, which can improve blurry and/or low-quality photos. It's not a huge change, but the corrections made via AI can improve a more pixelated photo.

One tool that I really missed here was the audio-to-text transcription tool. Of course, there are apps and websites that can do this without any problems, but having the functionality natively would be really interesting. It's something that's widely used on premium devices and is even present on Galaxy Tab S10 and S10 Ultra.

Galaxy Tab S10 FE Voice Recorder
Audio-to-text transcription may be a big deal for some people (Screenshot/Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

For its category, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE is characterized as a device with several AI resources, but the choice of Samsung Removing the most complete platform on the mobile device market gives me mixed opinions. We know that this was mainly done because of the processor, but considering that the suggested price of the device is R$4, a value considered high, it is worth understanding whether this would be enough for your day to day.

If you're someone who would like to use all of the Galaxy AI's tools in full, such as audio transcription, extremely assertive photo editing, translation in messaging apps, and more, it's worth rethinking the purchase. If you just want a powerful tablet with a large screen and these features would be just a “plus,” this might be ideal for you.

Frontal camera

Review: Galaxy Tab S10 FE democratizes AI on large screens. With battery life to spare, Samsung has put some AI features in its new low-cost tablet, but did it work? Here's what we think
Front camera takes photos in 12 MP

Thinking that you would only use the selfie lens for video calls, I have a rule of thumb of never expecting too much from tablet lenses. Galaxy Tab S10 FE, there is a lens that takes photos in 12 MP, with aperture f / 2.4, which also records video in UHD quality at 30 frames per second.

The photos aren't bad when the room is well lit, but there's some noise that can't be ignored. It's not completely bad, but it's also not like anything you see in more premium models. And maybe that's not even the company's intention. Samsung.

A feature seen on smartphones is also on this tablet: by pressing the video button, you can create slow-motion content to later share wherever you want. Is it useful? Not really, but it's nice to have on a tablet.

Back camera

Galaxy Tab S10 Fe Rear Camera
Rear camera has had a simple upgrade (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

From generation to generation, there was a 5 MP upgrade: the Galaxy Tab S10 FE It has a 13 MP lens, which also records videos in UHD quality, also at 30 FPS. Considering that rarely a person with a tablet of this size will use the device to take high-quality photos, there is no way to demand much from the model.

REVIEW: Galaxy Tab S10 FE democratizes AI on large screens

I invited my dog to do a little photo shoot and the photos came out pretty good, close to what we see on cheaper smartphones. It's not amazing and there's no intention of it being so, so we have the basics, without being able to demand much.

Considering that this camera would basically be used to take simple photos and even scan documents, it does the job as requested by a user who buys a tablet like this. Is it bad? Not at all. Is it a camera that we see in more expensive models? Not at all either.

Memory, storage and cards

Galaxy Tab S10 FE Memory and Storage Data
(Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

It can be said that the new tablet from Samsung It has very simple specifications: the device comes with 128 GB of internal storage, with the possibility of this being expanded to up to 2 TB via microSD card.

Compared to last year's model, there was a 2 GB gain in RAM, going from 6 GB to 8 GB of RAM. The operating system can still take advantage of up to 8 GB of internal storage for more multitasking activities, totaling 16 GB.

I would even say that 256 GB would be the most ideal here, but due to the possibility of expansion externally, the model does well.

Audio

(Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The new tablets Galaxy Tab S10 FE e Tab S10 FE+ da Samsung come equipped with dual stereo speakers, offering an immersive sound experience for media consumption and video calls. The model also supports the Dolby Atmos, which allows adaptation for better transmission depending on the activity performed.

The music in Spotify via speakers is very clear and, if you have Galaxy Buds headphones, you can enjoy high-fidelity audio, if the streaming you use in your day-to-day life supports it.

Connectivity

Galaxy Tab S10 Fe Connectivity Data
(Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

In terms of connectivity, the device comes in versions with Wi-Fi or with support for 5G networks. The Wi-Fi modem present in the processor supports connection to Wi-Fi 6E points, in addition to the included Bluetooth 5.3 antenna allowing connection to wireless devices without errors (and with great range). For this review, we are using the model with only Wi-Fi.

Here at home, I have a 5GHz network point that worked very well and without errors, making this model a good secondary device. As someone who always carries their cell phone with them, I was able to use my main device as a router when necessary. So far, so far. good.

Battery and charging

Galaxy Tab S10 Fe Battery Usage Data
(Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

Despite having gained weight and being larger, the battery with a capacity of 10.090 mAh follows the same as the previous generation. The model has not received significant changes that would justify the increase in battery, although more power would not be bad at all. But the processor, which Samsung says it is more efficient, it also justifies this lack of change in the battery Tab S9 FE e Tab S10 FE.

There is nothing negative to say about the device: it can handle hours of your day without needing to plug it in at any point. In fact, I was able to use the model without any problems for an entire day, including as a second screen to cover the Google I/O 2025, and it still had plenty of battery left after more than 02 hours of live streaming. The total battery usage was 12h39 in one cycle.

All that battery life and long battery life came at a price: in my tests, the battery took 05 hours to fully recharge. It's interesting to note that Samsung even included support for 45W wired charging, but the power source is only 15W, so you'll need to purchase it separately.

That said, here we have the famous double-edged sword: you will have a tablet with a good battery, but you will have to wait a long time for it to be fully recharged. Here's a tip: use it for a whole day and, overnight, leave the device to recharge. That way, even if the battery is not completely discharged, you will have a full battery to use the next day.

Accessories

Galaxy Tab S10 FE Charger and Power Supply
Power supply is sent in the box, but 15W charger remains (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

In addition to the charger with power of 15W, Samsung It comes with a USB-C cable for exchanging files and recharging the battery. A cover, which can be used as a screen protector and also as a stand in landscape mode and attached via Pogo connectors, is also included in the model's box.

Galaxy Tab S10 FE Protective Case
Cover protects the screen, but does not have a keyboard (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

What I missed most in this model was the keyboard cover, which would allow the model to be used as if it were a computer with Android. Of course, you can buy a cover like this, but having this included in the model (something available on the Tab S10 FE+, Tab S10 and Tab S10 Ultra), would make the user experience even more complete.

Price and availability

Model has a suggested price above R$4 (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The suggested price of Galaxy Tab S10 FE in Brazil it is from R$4.199. But, almost four weeks after its arrival in Brazil, it can already be found for around R$2. And this price should drop further over the next few months. See the options we found:

The competitors of the Tab S10 FE in Brazil are the 10th generation iPad, with A14 Bionic chip and 10,9″ screen, sold for around R$2.425 and the Galaxy Tab A8, most affordable option with 10,5″ screen, starting at R$935,10.

Conclusion

Galaxy tab s10 fe with instagram open
Model is excellent, even with “capped” AI (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

O Galaxy Tab S10 FE It's an interesting bet, but it's just a preview of the real thing. Galaxy A.I. present in more expensive models of Samsung. It can be considered a good option for those who need a model with a battery life of all day and a large screen, as well as a processor for activities that require average performance.

In fact, it looks quite similar to the Galaxy A56 and I even consider it as an “A56 with a 10-inch screen”. The high battery life, combined with the good system of Samsung which allows easy integration with other Galaxy devices and good communication with Windows, arrives to deliver a complete experience and can even replace the computer at times, even if the purchase of a keyboard is necessary.

Despite being “castrated,” the Galaxy Tab S10 FE should see its price drop as time goes on. I would say that this model is priced at about R$2.500, because despite being in Samsung’s premium tablet category, it is still somewhat limited.

At this point, if you're coming from models like the Galaxy Tab A and want to upgrade, the benefits will be noticeable right away, but it's worth considering whether the "losses" compared to models that actually have Galaxy AI won't be missed in your day-to-day life. I would miss the audio-to-text transcription, but maybe that doesn't apply to you.
