Competition is capable of changing some paradigms, one of which is that cheap stuff is necessarily bad, or not as good as expensive stuff. An example of this is the Haylou MoriPods ANC, released last month, a cheap phone that's great in many ways. It is comfortable, beautiful (for those who like white products, this one is a charm), there is an LED in each one, but it is in white and super discreet too and the sound is very good.
For those who want to know more about the brand, we recently made the Haylou PurFree review, a phone that stands out from the traditional ones, as it transmits sound via bone conduction. It is aimed at those who practice sports and, if that's your case, it's worth checking out.

Design and construction

The charging case is made of very nice white matte plastic and on the right side is the USB-C type port for charging. Haylou told us that there will be a dark version soon. Returning to the product, opening and closing the case is very easy and does not give the feeling that it may accidentally open in your backpack, for example. In the case there is also an LED indicating charging.
Considering the extremely attractive value of the product, we don't need to say that the case doesn't have induction charging and it's not possible to know the percentage of its battery, right? This all makes the product more expensive and although useful, it is expendable. The focus here is value for money.

The Haylou MoriPods ANC fit in the ear is very smooth and the headphones are very comfortable. Each one weighs 3.9 grams, that is, less than a sheet of paper. Sound insulation is ok, not impressive, but it already mitigates external noise without having to activate noise cancellation. When you take them out of the case, a white LED lights up on each one, it's very discreet and beautiful. Normally I don't like LEDs on headphones, as we don't see them and I don't understand their usefulness, this was the first time I liked them.
At the top of the headphones, where the Haylou logo is located, there is a touch surface where you can execute some commands. There are two microphones and inside there are magnetic connectors for charging.

Charging via USB-C is great, especially if your phone already uses this type of connection, it will save you from having an extra cable.
Finally, in the box comes the phone with case, the rubbers and a manual, that is, the necessary.
Usage and connectivity

Bluetooth 5.2 helps a lot, especially if your cell phone also has the connection. There is not delay in playbacks or command execution. For those who think that Bluetooth 5.0 and 5.2 are the same thing, in fact, they are not. I noticed a big difference in the execution of commands between my computer, which has 5.0, and my cell phone, which has 5.2. THE Hayle got it right too when putting the most modern version, for those who play FPS games, the minimum of delay generates competitive advantages. The Bluetooth range is also satisfactory, you will be able to use it at a distance of +/- 7 meters.
It doesn't have a dedicated app yet, it's a phone old school, those that you just plug in and use. This is good, because it makes it very simple to use, you don't need to download anything or open anything to configure and start using it, but you can get lost when it comes to knowing if you are in noise canceling mode, normal mode or ambient mode, since when switching between modes you only hear a sound that differs them, without mentioning which one it is. When it is connected to any device, a sound is emitted, and when the connection is interrupted, too.

When you open the case and put the headphones in your ear, the pairing is done automatically, without having to access the settings. It's very fast and practical. Plus point for Haylou MoriPods ANC.
The controls are done via touch, and among the functions of the buttons, we have:
- Press for 1.5 seconds: play/pause or answer/hang up call
- Double click the left button: back music
- Double click the right button: forward music
- Triple right click: Switch between active noise canceling mode, transparency mode and normal mode.
- Triple click left button: Turn low latency mode on or off

sound and microphone

I'll start by going straight to the point: the sound is very pleasant. The sound is natural and immersive, and it's easy for anyone to enjoy the sound of it. The low mids are not tangled and the mids are balanced, you will be able to hear the vocals and piano and guitar sounds are very present too.
Em piece of your heart, from the group Meduza, you hear the vocals well and the beginning of the song is marked by the beats that are very present. the piano of diamond heart by Lady Gaga is a delight here. The 10mm dynamic drivers do a good job.
The unit that we received has noise cancellation that slightly softens external sounds. The manufacturer reports that it reduces external sounds by 30 decibels but the impression I had was as if the noise emitter had been moved a few meters away: I could hear it, but a little longer. I tested it inside a bus and the impression I had when activating the cancellation is that the engine was a little further away.
The transparent mode presented a very low hiss and I also couldn't notice much difference compared to the normal mode.

For those who watch a lot of movies, series, or videos on YouTube, you will be able to hear people's voices perfectly without any problems.
During phone calls the microphones also do well. The voice is a little metallic, but not far away. Whoever is on the other end of the line will be able to hear you, but in an unnatural way.
Battery and autonomy

It's the second phone Hayle that I test and both have something in common: the battery is very good! It's up to 9 hours of use on the phone and another 24 hours with the case charging itself, totaling 33 hours away from the socket with active noise cancellation off. When activated, the manufacturer indicates that it is possible to use the headphones for 8 hours and another 22 hours with the case's battery.
Which means you can go a whole month with the headset without plugging in if you use it for 1 hour a day while going to the gym. Spectacular, right?
Even without a dedicated app, it is possible to check the battery level via Android or iOS. If you're like me and spend a lot of time in front of your PC, you can even check the battery level in Windows:

The case provides enough battery to fully charge the earphones for almost 3 more times
Price and availability

O Haylou MoriPods ANC is on sale on Amazon for R$ 188,00. It is a very affordable phone, with quality in construction and audio. For those who don't want to spend more than R$ 200,00, this may be the right one.
Conclusion

For less than R$190,00 this is a great phone. It's not perfect, of course, but it can meet the demands of not-so-demanding people. Especially if you're not looking for noise cancellation, which despite being here, doesn't make much difference.
Haylou MoriPods ANC is for those who need headphones for everyday life and don't need headphones with very high sound quality. A very good phone, at a great price, one of those you don't want to lose, but if you do, it's not such a big loss.
