We tested the Hollyland LARK A1, a kit with two wireless microphones for cell phones Android ou iPhone (iOS), which stands out for its excellent cost-benefit, with a price below BRL 600, audio quality and very effective noise cancellation. Is it worth it? Check it out now!
Design

Regarding design, the kit LARK A1 It consists of a very compact charging case that fits in your pocket. Inside it, there are two microphones, which you can use in two ways: individually, when you are recording your content alone, or in pairs, in the case of an interview, for example.
In addition, the case comes with two receivers, one with a connector. USB-C — for newer Android phones and iPhones (from iPhone 15) — and another of the kind lightning, for older iPhones.

All the components are made of plastic and the microphones, in particular, are very small. They have a system of magnets on the back, used to attach them to clothing.
On the front of each one, there is the logo of hollyland (which is very discreet, don't worry), and an LED to indicate the professional status: if it is green, it indicates that it is charged; if it is blue, but flashing, it means that it is searching for the antenna; and if it is blue, without flashing, it means that it has connected.
The LED area also functions as a button to turn noise cancellation on and off if you press it once. If you press it twice, the microphone mutes, and you just need to press it twice again to resume recording.
There are also two LEDs on the antennas to indicate whether you have connected one or two microphones to your phone. Below each of them, there is a yellow button: tapping it activates or deactivates noise cancellation. Tap twice to mute the first microphone. Tap three times to mute the second microphone.
A difference in the receiver structure is the presence of a second input USB-C on the side, in case you want to charge your phone while recording videos.

In the packaging, in addition to the case with the two microphones, the hollyland It comes with a bag to store the kit, a USB cable and two wind protectors, for when you're recording outdoors.

Connectivity and app

O LARK A1 it's like plug-and-play: just connect it to your cell phone and start using it, recording with your smartphone's default camera.
The experience is even better when using the app LarkSound, available to Android e iOS. In the tests we did, the connection with the microphones was instantaneous, and the app allows you to view the volume of each unit in real time, ensuring that the sound is not overpowering.
You can also configure the noise cancellation level, the recording mode in mono ou stereo, adjust the equalizer, control the reverb, activate scheduled shutdown and even differentiate the LED lights of each microphone, so you know which is which, in yellow or purple colors.
Audio quality
When it comes to sound quality, the LARK A1 Surprisingly, the microphone has much more clarity and depth compared to the audio from the cell phone microphone. This is clear both indoors and outdoors.

All this quality is given because LARK A1 record in 24 bits, superior to the 16 bits generally found in most smartphones. In addition, the quality of noise cancellation is much better, precisely because the noise capture in 24 bits is about -144 dB, against approx. -96 dB from the audio in 16 bits.
Another benefit of the standard in 24 bits present in LARK A1 is the high range: according to the company, it is possible to move away up to 200 meters from the antenna — without obstacles, of course — without loss of quality.
Battery and charging
A hollyland promises until 9h of continuous use on each microphone, dropping to about 6,5h with noise cancellation turned on. That's enough time for a full recording, whether on the street or in a studio.

And if you need more, the case can fully recharge the microphones twice, which guarantees more than 50h for full use. Perfect for those who travel or spend the day out and don't always have a power outlet nearby.
Price and availability

costing R$599, LARK A1 stands out as one of the best value for money options among wireless microphones for cell phones. It is cheaper than many competitors with similar quality. The model is now available at Amazon since June 10th.
Conclusion

With this combination of good price, exceptional audio quality and great noise reduction, it's easy to recommend the LARK A1 from Hollyland. The brand really got it right in developing this product and will make us retire the DJI mini, which we used in recordings and costs much more.
If you are looking for a microphone for Android or iPhone to record your content, here is the recommendation showmetech.
