REVIEW: JOVI V50 5G brings top-of-the-line cameras with ZEISS lenses to mid-range devices
Table of Contents
O JOVI V50 5G is the first smartphone from JOVI in Brazil, being released as LIVE V50 out there. The new smartphone fits into the mid-range category and its main highlights are its high-resolution cameras and lenses. ZEISS, in addition to having the power of Snapdragon 7 Gen3 da Qualcomm. Is it worth investing in it? Check it out now!
Design

It is undeniable that Chinese smartphones always go for different designs, whether that is good or bad. In the case of JOVI V50 5G, they hit the nail on the head. The biggest highlight here is its rear, which features a very specific camera module. Positioned on the right side of the smartphone's rear, this module is inspired by luxury watches and features a flash in the form of ring light which we will go into more detail later.

The color we received is anchor red — leaning more towards wine —, but it also arrives in Brazil in satin black. The back of this model is made of glass, while the black version has a more “basic” and slightly lighter plastic back. On the side, we have aluminum, giving it a very sophisticated look. Another thing that improves the look and makes everything even more beautiful are the rounded edges, which improve the grip of the device.

As for the buttons, it follows the market standard. Androids, with two volume buttons and one power button, all on the right side of the smartphone. The device weighs 189g and, despite being quite long, is light and easy to hold. For those who are more clumsy, be aware that the JOVI V50 5G brings the certification IP68 / IP69, that is, resistance to dust and water for up to 30 minutes and one and a half meters deep.
Another highlight is its box, very well stocked, by the way, with a charger 90W, a USB-C data cable and a manual. Although it does not come with headphones, the smartphone comes with a screen protector and a case.
Fabric

O JOVI V50 5G brings a 6,77-inch screen with technology AMOLED and Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2392 pixels). It has a 120Hz refresh rate that can be varied between 60, 90 or 120, with 387 ppi. The peak brightness here is 4500 nits, but the average is 1300, a very high number that guarantees a great experience in any environment.
For protection, the smartphone has technology Diamond Shield, which promises to be super resistant to falls and twists. We didn't put this to the test in our tests, but it's a very interesting and important promise for users.
Still with technology HDR10 +, its combination with the other screen specifications makes this a perfect smartphone for playing games and watching movies, series and videos on YouTube. The colors are beautiful, with great contrast and, of course, very high brightness even in sunlight.
Processor and graphics

The processor chosen here was the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 da Qualcomm. This is an intermediate model (the same one used by Lenovo No. Motorola Edge 50 Neo), octa-core type and with four nanometers. Divided into three parts — 1 Core Kryo Prime (Cortex-A715) at 2630Mhz, 3 Cores Gold (Cortex-A715) at 2400Mhz and 4 Cores Kryo Silver (Cortex A510) at 1800Mhz —, this is a very powerful processor for the main daily activities and even for some games and more intensive functions, although it has a greater focus on battery performance.
As regards GPU from the smartphone, it brings a Adreno 720, which can improve graphics through AI, HDR, and other graphics benefits that an outdated GPU would be incapable of.
O JOVI V50 5G has excellent performance and is very fluid. We use several apps simultaneously, such as WhatsApp and other social networks, and we didn't notice any kind of stuttering. In the tests we did with the following games bully, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown e Minecraft, they all ran very well, with the graphics at maximum and without overheating, something that was quite impressive.
Insights
For the tests of benchmarking, we tested the JOVI V50 5G No. AnTuTu Benchmark and Geekbench. The results were good and put it just above a Galaxy S21FE. Check it out below:
AnTuTu Benchmark
In the test done with AnTuTu Benchmark, the JOVI V50 5G reached the value 816139, positioning it behind a Google Pixel 7 and Galaxy A56 by a not very big difference. The result is good and fits with its category. Check it out:

Geekbench 5
In tests carried out with Geekbench 5, we divided the classification into Single-Core, Multi-Core e GPU. Check the result of each of them:
System and interface

O JOVI V50 5G comes from the factory with the Android 15 under the interface Funtouch 15. It is an updated system, but it is lacking in this regard. Let me explain: smartphones from realme e OPPO, which are from the same group as JOVI, have some differences between their systems, but, in essence, they are the same, in addition to now having a super updated interface for the year 2025. Here at JOVI V50, what we noticed is that, even updated, this interface still looks like past editions of other models, as if it were two or three years behind.
That said, quick brightness and volume functions in the quick function bar are not present, as is access to the media player directly from here. It is a bit more generic, resembling what we see in Google Pixel, for example. It's not a bad experience, but knowing that your “brothers” realme e OPPO have a much more attractive interface, it seems like an uninteresting idea to keep this aesthetic here.

Despite this, the smartphone offers us a wide variety of customization, whether in images or in the positioning of app icons, animations and even in the way of receiving notifications and performing tasks. dynamic effects. These settings allow the user to change the effects of fingerprint unlocking, ambient light, when playing music and even whether or not the rear flash will blink when receiving notifications.
A JOVI confirmed that the device will have four years of security updates and three years of system updates, taking it to the Android 18 2028 the year.
Artificial Intelligence
O JOVI V50 5G does not have enhanced AI capabilities like other advanced models, such as Realme GT6 ou OPPO Find X. However, it brings some very interesting features, especially when it comes to photography.
He has a Smart sidebar, similar to smartphones Samsung and through it, it is possible to access the Screen Translation that reads the current screen and provides a real-time translation of it. The JOVI also emphasizes the use of Gemini and Google resources like Circle to search.

In the gallery, it is possible to do some things using AI, such as using the AI Image Expander, allowing the user to increase its size and let the AI work on the final result. We loved the result and you can check out one of them below:

Another resource is AI Photo Enhancement, whose goal is to correct blurs and lower resolutions. A good option for restoring old images or even that photo that had everything to be perfect, but ended up being blurry for some reason. Check out an example:

With the feature Erase with AI, you can also remove people and objects from the images, if you so wish. The result is quite interesting, if you are subtle in your desires, and it is impressive in the way it recreates the scenes when you erase them. Check it out:

Memory and storage

O JOVI V50 5G arrives in Brazil with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of storage with UFS 2.2 technology. This combination is more than enough to keep all your apps running smoothly, in addition to being able to install everything you need (and don't need) on it. It still has plenty of space to take photos and videos, something that is very interesting and of quality in this smartphone. And we cannot forget to mention that the smartphone is compatible with RAMPlus up to 12GB.
Connectivity

O JOVI V50 It has WiFi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6) and is compatible with 5G networks for mobile data. It is dual-SIM and, despite all the current technology features, it does not have an eSIM. For contactless payments, the user can count on NFC technology. And, although it is not necessary, it is worth mentioning that there is no space for memory expansion via Micro SD card.
For the use of wireless devices, the device has Bluetooth 5.4, which will ensure compatibility with all your accessories. The AI SuperLink It is a 360º antenna that serves to guarantee greater strength and network signal coverage, a very specific feature of the device, but which is quite interesting and useful.
Furthermore, the fingerprint sensor here is under the screen and uses optical technology. It reads fingers quickly and works well even with wet fingers in some cases.
Audio

O JOVI V50 It has two speakers for a stereo sound experience. The volume is loud, but I noticed that it falls short of other smartphones in the category, such as the Galaxy A56 that we recently tested (check out our review). I noticed that the sound tends to pop when at higher volumes, making the experience less pleasant. However, it is worth noting that, both for games and for listening to the occasional song on it, the experience is good.
In the field of headphones, we do notice some real problems, at least in some realities. Using a smartphone with a Galaxy Buds2, although it works extremely well in a Galaxy A54, here it presents a lower sound and with less quality. The explanation for this may be, perhaps, some codec not compatible with the device (which is compatible with the codecs A2DP e LE). .
Battery and charging

O JOVI V50 It has a 6000 mAh battery with BlueVolt technology, which is smaller, and has a durability of more than four years thanks to its construction. It is capable of holding up to 21 hours of YouTube or almost 10 hours of PUBG, according to the manufacturer, a fact that consolidates itself as a battery that is slightly above the average of the main devices Android in the market, managing to surprise positively.
In one of the tests, we put the device to charge with 20% at 13:47 p.m. At 14:32 p.m. it had already reached 100% with the charger. 90W included in the box. To stress your battery, we did the following tests: 1 hour of bully, 1 hour and 15 minutes of Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, 1 hour and 1 minute of Minecraft and 1 hour and 44 minutes of YouTube. After that, the smartphone still had 52% battery life, with almost six hours of screen time.
The day before, we continued using the device normally, in addition to testing the filming for a further period in order to check the time and energy consumption. This resulted in almost 1 day and 8 hours of use, even with the use of apps that use more processing and video from the smartphone, demonstrating its excellent performance.
On quieter days, I noticed that the smartphone can easily last two or three days if you are a person who uses the phone for more specific things.
Rear cameras

O JOVI V50 has two rear cameras. They were created in partnership with ZEISS and both feature 50MP, plus 4K recording. The main lens is a Wide with a sensor that “simulates the human eye” to bring more realistic photos and Pro CIPA 4.0 DSLR level optical stabilization. The second lens, Ultra Wide, also brings 50MP and stands out for having a high multiple focus of 119 degrees.
The result of these two lenses are photos with incredible colors and a very impressive resolution for the category. Furthermore, even without a telephoto lens, the digital zoom reaches 20x here and, thanks to post-processing, it can deliver great results, such as photos of the Moon.
The big highlight of this model in terms of cameras is that it has a ring light built-in that is located below the cameras and works as the device's flash. When we activate the flash function in the camera app, a menu appears, allowing us to control the lighting level, but the most interesting thing is that it is possible to control how warm or cool the LED will be.
The partnership with ZEISS also brought several portrait mode effects, from the most basic to more elaborate things like “Rembrandt lighting” which uses the ring light built into the smartphone. Some of the effects are: ZEISS Biotar (classic 50mm), ZEISS B-Speed (35mm – for outdoor scenes) and ZEISS Distagon (23mm – Tunnel). In addition to these, it is possible to access other effects such as Food Mode, with 6 filter options. Now that you know the details, let's get to the tests:
main camera
Below is a gallery of photos captured through the main camera do JOVI V50 5G:
Ultrawide Camera
Now, here is another gallery, this time with photos captured through the second lens included in the Ultrawide camera:
Macro photos
We present another gallery, this time with photos captured through Macro lens of the device:
Frontal camera
For the front lens, the JOVI also chose to bring a 50MP camera, called ZEISS group selfie camera. It still has autofocus and can do selfies with up to three people at the same time, combined with its 92º field of view and f/2.0 aperture. The results are photos with high resolution and details, both in well-lit environments and in nighttime or darker locations.
For videos, the smartphone's front camera can reach up to 4K at 30 frames per second. The quality is excellent, especially for those who want to post videos on social media. In fact, both the front and rear cameras have a function called Microfilm is available. In it, predefined effects are added to the app so that you can record your favorite videos directly from here, a fact that, once again, comes with the idea of making content creation easier. Check out some photos from the selfie camera below:
Price and availability
O JOVI V50 arrives in Brazil today, May 29, 2025, with its 512 GB + 12 GB RAM variant with a suggested price of R$4.999, in Anchor Red and Satin Black.
5 star benefit
O JOVI V50 5G rely on 5 star benefit, that is, a differentiated warranty system from the manufacturer here in Brazil. Check out the highlights:
- One year of broken screen protection (any accident the user has, the company replaces it, no questions asked);
- Two years quality warranty (traditional warranty against product defects);
- Three years of changing the film and cover, twice a year (six covers and six films in total), just go to technical support and ask for the change;
- Four-year battery warranty (battery will be replaced if it does not reach at least 80% capacity);
- Five-year review (technical assistance promises to carry out a complete review once a year to ensure that the product is working in perfect condition).
This is a benefit that will be guaranteed to all people who purchase the smartphone until January 1, 2027 .
Is the JOVI V50 good?

To conclude this review of JOVI V50 5G, we can say that it is an excellent mid-range smartphone, with a good processor, cutting-edge design and, most importantly, that it delivers great photos, something that, let's face it, attracts all of us to smartphones these days. This is all made even more enjoyable by its 6.000 mAh battery, which also delivers excellent performance and will guarantee you peace of mind without being plugged in for at least a day and a half.
For the most demanding users, the software may not be as appealing, but this should not be a real impediment, since the smartphone is super customizable and also has several unique functions to make the device reflect the user's personality.
Currently, the JOVI V50 can be classified as the main rival of Motorola Edge 50 Neo by your processor. However, thanks to the partnership with ZEISS, it delivers much more in its cameras, placing it on a level above the device of Motorola. However, what leaves it behind at this moment is its launch price of more than R$4.999,00, leaving its cost-benefit well below.
