Review: Philips Brilliance LCD LED Dual Monitor (19DP6 / 19DP6QJNS)

A lot of people have already realized that, better than just increasing the size of the computer monitor, it can be to add a second screen. Screen:

The model's two monitors have 19 inches (at 5: 4 aspect ratio) to technology AH-IPS LCD on LED backlight. The maximum resolution is not the best on the market, but it is still good: 1280 x 1024 a 60 Hz. the monitors AH-IPS use advanced technology that offers extra-wide viewing angles of 178/178 degrees, making it possible to view the monitor from almost any angle.

Already smarttext is a sophisticated algorithm that improves the reading of text-based applications such as PDF documents or e-books that generally require more focus and concentration. The feature increases text contrast and sharpness for better readability. Optimization for reading is done by automatically adjusting the monitor's grayscale and white balance, brightness and contrast.

Connections:

The connections are separated by monitor, which means that behind each of them the following options are offered:

• Screen 1: 2 USB 2.0 inputs, 1 VGA (analog) output, 1 DisplayPort output;
• Screen 2: 2 USB 2.0 inputs, VGA (analog) output, 1 MHL-HDMI output;

As 4 USB inputs allow you to connect multimedia devices such as USB memory device, camera, portable hard drive, webcam, PDA, printer and many other devices to the monitors. They allow the transmission of USB 2.0 signals to the computer, functioning as a USB hub.

The exit MHL-HDMI allows you to connect the monitor to the computer, if the computer accepts connections HDMI. You can also connect it to any smartphone, tablet or other device that supports the standard. MHL (Mobile High Definition Link). Once connected, the monitor charges the gadget, while playing videos in HD quality.

O dual monitor da Philips is already available in the Brazilian market and can be found in physical stores of Fnac, Fastshop, Magazine Luiza, among others. In online stores, we find only the Kabum!, which sells the model for R$2.124,91.

Conclusion:

The use of two monitors simultaneously is really a game changer for anyone working with text editing, contracts and video or photo files. People don't appreciate it until they try it out and get used to moving windows between monitors. Worth a try.

Specifically regarding the Philips Brilliance LCD LED dual monitor (model 19DP6 / 19DP6QJNS), this advantage is even more evident, since the screens are even closer and are identical (avoiding variations in image size and quality, which occur when buying different monitors).

As always, the company shows that it is an expert in design and practicality, creating a double set under a single light and elegant base.

The price is also fair, even more if we compare the Gift Sets at the price of high quality single monitors.

As for image quality, we have only one caveat. Already exist other monitors with higher resolutions to that offered by Philips Brilliance LCD LED 2-in-1. So it's worth taking a closer look to see if the resolution offered here is good enough for you, or if you're willing to pay more for another monitor – and compatible video card – with support for higher resolutions.
