Review: HTC 7 Pro smartphone (Windows Phone 7). Below we present the HTC 7 Pro smartphone, in a review by our newest author, João Orlando Gordilho (welcome, João!! =)).

Below we present the smartphone HTC 7 Pro, in the assessment made by our newest author, Joao Orlando Gordilho (Welcome, John!! =)):

Design and finish:

From the first time I held the HTC 7 Pro in hand, I already realized that it was a more robust device. After all, it weighs 185 grams and has an excellent QWERTY keyboard! After I put it in my pocket, I noticed its 1,5 cm thick (it's big). But like most cell phones HTC, the finish is very solid, the screen is wrapped in high quality plastic and the back cover is brushed aluminum.

Screen:

Equipped with a LCD capacitive screen de 3.6 inches, resolution of 480 × 800 pixels, the phone offers good viewing angles, but they could have put a little more contrast in the colors. Nothing like the screen iPhone 4, or Nexus S. But there is also no light leakage, as in the vast majority of LCD screens, and the screen response is very good!

Velocity:

inside the HTC 7 Pro has a processor 1Ghz Snapdragon, which offers very fast screen switching. But when opening apps it takes a while. Of course, even so, I didn’t even feel the cell phone “working/thinking”, as happens with the N8 da Nokia. The animations of the hubs (people and games) are fluid and very good.

Camera:

Mobile's weakest point, despite the highly common resolution (formerly every cell phone had a 2.0 megapixel camera, the new trend is 5.0 megapixels and what will be next?) 5.0 megapixels and LED flash, the photos are not so good, especially the ones taken indoors.

In outdoor shots, it manages to capture the details well, with an occasional blur here and there. The camera's interface is pretty basic compared to what the HTC use on your smartphones Androids of life, but no less complete for that reason: it has some scene modes, effects and measurement modes.

The camera button has two stages (focus and trigger). In my opinion, it contributes to blurry photos, as people are used to just squeezing and that's it.

When entering camcorder mode, the basic resolution is VGA (640 × 480), but we can increase it to 720p with 25fps. Here I find one of the first problems that OS WP7: when we leave the camera and we want to come back in, it sets everything back up, that is, if we were shooting in HD and we left the camera, when we come back we have to set everything up again and by the time we are done, we have already lost the moment. The same goes for the photos!

Operating System and Updates:

Introduced at the beginning of last year, the OS Windows Phone 7 charmed a lot of people. But, like any new operating system, it had its defects and bugs (lack of multitasking and copy paste). With the passage of time, and the launch of the first devices, the ecosystem finally released the update Node, to fix some bugs and add the copy paste.

We are currently on the imminent release of the first major update to the ecosystem, Mango, which promises to bring more integration with social media, as well as the new Internet Explorer 9 and, finally, the opening of the Marketplace for Brazil. Apart from the integration with the XBOX, which works wonderfully.

The interface is very beautiful and intuitive, as are the vast majority of applications that follow the model of swiping to the side to discover the other menus and options. But unfortunately it is not customizable as a system Android devices. So, I think there are two ways to go: either people will get tired of always looking at the same menu, or you can follow the success of iPhone. I believe more in the second option, but only the future will tell!

Accessories:

The device comes with a wall charger, which needs an adapter for Brazilian outlets, data cable and headphones that are very good.

Battery:

The battery lasts, with massive use of internet, email, facebook, apps, games and photos (hi heavy users), about 1 and a half day, but in order not to be taken by surprise, it is better to carry it daily. In other words, it's good!

Price and availability:

During E3 this year, the ecosystem showed that it will expand the coverage of the Windows Phone 7 for at least more 30 countries, including support for new languages, marketplace for all, bing maps, and search results for Brazil, outside that they intend to sell it in Brazil, but that's from next year.

No Privacy Policy | we can find it for 1.390 BRL, unlocked, but let's wait for the release here at Brazil to see new pricing options.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the HTC 7 Pro It is a great device for those who like QWERTY and want to try the Windows Phone 7, but don't worry about weight or thickness. If these factors matter to you, options abound as the HTC Trophy (brilliantly rated by Bia Kunze) and the Mozart. It is a OS growing, which needs improvement, but which OS You didn't need it in your early years, did you?
